Town Manager Update on 2022 Funding • Looking to affect long term special events for TOV and tie to sustainable destination planning and un-silo TC funding and CSE funding. • Will begin discussions with new town council on Special event funding and how we want to move forward with this. • CSE will provide a recommendation memo for TC retreat to assist with this conversation b. 12/7 TC Meeting- Mia will provide Town Council with the recommendation • CSE want a timeline from TC in order to provide those event producers more information and have the decision by March at the latest. • Open to CSE doing a special session to ensure this gets done. • Request a reorganization of the CSE funding worksheets based on date to understand Q1 recommendations. c. E&E Money is all allocated for 2022 d. Winter Allocation: Approval of funding of events through Q1 will be requested of council based on previous allocations 2. 8:45 a.m.: Event Recap (90 Minutes) a. Vail Symposium (Kris Sable) – In Person • 13 of 20 upcoming plans to be in person, are currently monitoring situation based on COVID. • Mission is to continue to drive to the local/general public participation • Motion to release final funding. 1. Rediker/Conover /Unanimous b. GRFA Summer Programming- Dave Dressman • Pulled of Hot Summer Night in full along with Amp summer concerts and a new community concert all in changing times and challenging • 90,000 people in 2021 June - September • 2022 – Season will be different due to roofing project/solar 1. Venue open 5/22 and large concerts in May (5-6 before GoPro and yes there is something booked for Memorial Day weekend 2. Venue will be closed day after Labor Day for project • Motion to release final funding. 1. Rediker/Biszantz /Unanimous c. NWSBDC --Lauren Ciarallo & Erin McCuskey in person • A lot of participants were local Vail Valley businesses • Smaller than normal numbers due to COVID and based on busy business an workforce shortages didn’t allow some people to attend • Final year for this program, but looking at other type programming to fit demographics/needs in the community • Motion to release final funding. 1. Biszantz/ Rediker/Unanimous d. Vail Valley Works -- Anna Robinson • Motion to release final funding. 1. Biszantz /Conover /Unanimous e. Betty Ford Alpine Gardens (Nanette Kuich) • Indoor facility attendance up 22%, strong participation all around • Weakness is survey responses, working to do spot surveys and find ways to improve this • Motion to release final funding. 1. Rediker /Smith /Unanimous f. Shakedown Presents • Requesting more time to review the budget document and will present in January. 3. 10:15 a.m.: Meeting Reports (15 Minutes) a. Motion to approve minutes from October 27 and November 3 meeting. • Motion to release final funding. 1. Conover /Rediker /Unanimous b. Council Update • Tuesday decides Mayor and Econ Dev will present winter funding and message of recommendations on funding allocations c. VEAC Update d. VLMDAC Update: See council updates e.
