Describe and changes that are being
made to the event as proposed in your
RFP.
Bravo! Vail is not making any major changes to the original RFP. In an
abundance of caution given previous travel restrictions related to the
pandemic, we engaged the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra for 2022,
instead of an international chamber orchestra. In addition, The Philadelphia
Orchestra Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin will not conduct at the
Festival this season; instead Principal Guest Conductor Nathalie
Stutzmann will lead the orchestra. We also now have more details on the
composers selected for the New Works Symphonic Commissioning Project,
who are Chris Rogerson, Katherine Balch, and Carlos Simon. Valerie
Coleman, who was suggested in the original application, was unable to
participate.
