EVENT STRENGTHS &WEAKNESSES
•How did the event exceed expectations?
The flexibility of artists to perform in numerous locations during any weather conditions
allowed for consistency in weekly performances.Regular social media and local press
coverage helped with program visibility.Street locations boosted crowd interest in the
Village as they moved between restaurants, shops, and lodging.
•What are areas for event improvement?
More foresight and communication on location production (i.e.tents, heaters,
branding, props etc.)
•How did this year’s event compare to previous years?
The transition out of heavy COVID restrictions allowed the artists to interact with guests
(in the form of conversation and song requests) to such a high level, which can be
demonstrated by the huge uptick in artist gratuities
VAIL BRAND COMPATIBILITY
•How did the event support the Vail Brand?
The talented street performers created the perfect ski town ambience, adding
energy and flow to the Village’s common areas and many smiles to the faces of
locals and tourists alike. This year also featured “#Discover Vail” branded
backdrops behind performers to add in the digital/social media element of
brand positioning.
Brand Positioning:
•Town of Vail:The Premier International Mountain Resort Community
•Vail Mountain:Like nothing on earth
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTION
•How did the event impact Vail’s sense of community?
People of all ages were able to enjoy entertainment by musicians in many
different public community areas inside the Village. The majority of our
artists are from the Vail Valley, which allowed us to give direct work
opportunities to or community members.
TOPLINE MARKETING EFFORTS
•Top 3 most successful marketing tactics
•Instagram:Stories posted weekly on Instagram featured artist
mentions and @discovervail
•Facebook:Similar style posts were put on FB
•Local Newspaper:Events with full artistic lineup, locations and times
were featured regularly in Vail Daily’s “Tricia’s Picks”entertainment
preview.
POTENTIAL FOR GROWTH &SPONSORSHIPS/MEDIA
EXPOSURE
•How do you see the event evolving or growing next year?
More artists in both villages at key community hotspots.Larger, more interactive
musical gatherings as we continue to grow our community bonds and outreach
with COVID restrictions in the rearview mirror.
•What sponsors do you plan to target next year?(Including existing and potential
sponsors)
Continuation of media partnerships (i.e.Artists tags on social media and community
outreach through Vail Daily)
•How will you leverage media exposure and extend the marketing reach next year?
As we’re able to book musicians earlier,we’ll be able to leverage those musicians to
promote their own performances in town and draw more people. They will also be
tasked with tagging @discovervail and @vailgov in their social posts.
SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS
•What measures were taken at your event/program to support the
environmentally-friendly goals of the Town of Vail?
We follow all the sustainability efforts that are currently in place with the town.
•What waste reduction methods were used during your event/program?
Our characters and musicians follow a strict “pack in/pack out”policy with equipment,
trash and recycling.
•How could you improve on sustainability efforts for next year’s event?
Signage postings in the Village to remind patrons to be green and courteous with
their waste as they enjoy the Village's music and ambience
The Town of Vail is committed to the stewardship and protection of our unique mountain environment. In consideration of both
our local and global impacts and opportunities, our environmental vision is to demonstrate and promote:renewable energy,
