sales tax in Vail?
The event is a fine art festival. Artists making sales will contribute
significantly to sales tax in Vail. Most artists that participate share sales of
25,000 - 100,000 at this event.
How will your event support the mission
and vision of the Vail Town Council?
We are a local, family business that has lived and worked in the Vail Valley
for over 25 years. We organize a world-class art event with a diversity of
mediums and host it at the height of summer in one of the most beautiful
locations in the Rockies.
How will your event or program support
the Vail brand identity?
The quality of the art, the professional exhibits created by the artists, and
the thoughtful consideration on the part of the organizers for surrounding
businesses all reflect positively on the Vail brand.
How is this event/program at the right
time for Town of Vail?
This event, being in late August brings people and action into Lionshead
when otherwise, the village would be pretty quiet.
How will your event/program attract
target markets of both visitors and
community members?
We have an extensive marketing strategy that includes print and radio
advertising. We have been organizing art shows in the valley for 12 years.
We have an established community of community members, second-home
owners, and tourists. Many people know our brand on trust the quality of
the event.
How will the event/program deliver fresh
content and enhanced experiences?
This event is organized by artists who do these kinds of events all over the
US. All year we are meeting new talent and inviting them to our show. This
keeps the festival fresh without sacrificing quality.
How will the event/program promote an
atmosphere of vitality, fun and
celebration?
It's an outdoor, summer event with a tight community of artists that have
known one another for years to decades. Everyone is happy to be here and
selling their artwork. Most of our artists are genuinely nice and authentic
people who love what they do and love sharing their art with people. It's a
lovely atmosphere.
What is the marketing reach for the
event/program? You will be asked more
detailed marketing questions in a future
section.
From Denver to Glenwood Springs.
What is the potential for the
event/program to leverage media
exposure and attract sponsorship
support?
We have close relationships with local businesses. We have a recognized
brand. We hope to expand sponsorship in the future that will allow us to
expand our art show.
Explain the event/program producer’s
quality, knowledge and resources to
sustain and grow the event.
As the event director, I have a Masters of Fine Art from the San Francisco
Art Institute. I'm an artist myself who travels and participates in these same
events. I've gained incredible insight of what creates a good art festival. I
know what works and what does not. My high education and experience
have contributed to the success of the event. My ambition expanded our
event from one single show in the summer to now two. Art on the Rockies
in July in Edwards and Vail Fine Art in August in Lionshead. With future
support, our plan is to expand the Lionshead art show from 76 participants
to an international art festival of over 200 exhibitors.
Explain the adaptability of the event and
the event producer to adjust to
changing public health orders.
In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, my event was one of the only art
festivals that actually went on. I worked closely with the county at each
step. I changed the entire festival lay-out and created a safe, effective
outdoor event catering to social distancing, mask, and sanitary mandates.
