O'Shaugnnessy Remodel, L@L #220 ❑ RFI ❑ MEETING NOTES ® RESPONSE JOB NUMBER: 0612-11 ❑ CLARIFICATION/CHANGE This record is in regards to a request to add stone veneer to a fireplace, located in the Lodge at Lionshead Phase II unit #220 in Vail, CO. Full height 4" stone veneer (9'-0 max. height) will be added to the face of the fireplace, as well as a stone mantel and hearth. The existing floor structure consists of precast concrete double tee's which span the width of the building. A continuous L4x4xl/4 steel angle (approximately 6-6" long) should be added to support the stone veneer above the mantel. This angle should be fastened to a C4x5.4 header supporting the stud wall behind the veneer with 1/2" diameter through bolts @ 24" o.c. The header shall span the width of the fireplace and be supported by (2) studs at each end. Otherwise it appears the existing structure is adequate to support the anticipated design loads. Please call with any questions or concerns. S/GNE COPY TO: ael P. Strumph REVIEWED: Tim D.
