WIRE (FOR STEEL POSTS) General Landscape Notes Trees and shrubs shall be planted in pits 1 1/2 times the size of the plant rootball and backfilled with a combination of topsoil, well rotted manure and compost. All trees shall have a well a minimum of 4" deep, comparable in size to the drip line of the tree. All deciduous trees shall be staked with V steel ' posts and guyed with #14 gouge galvanized wire and 1 1/2" x 18" nylon tree straps. After installation all newly planted trees shall be rootfed with a liquid root growth stimulator containing vitamin 5-2 as well as a slow release fertilizer. All shrub beds shall be lined with weed prevention mat prior to �/� being-topdressed. All tree wells and shrub beds shall be topdres5ed with a minimum of 3" of bark mulch. Herbaceous planting beds shall be topsoil, tilled to a depth of 6" and be rock free. A mixture of compost and well rotted manure should be tilled into the planting beds ( I cubic yard compost per 350 s.f., one cubic yard manure per 250 s.f.). All herbaceous planting beds shall be topdressed with 1/2" block Colorado humus peat . Design of individual and continuous footings is based on a maximum allowable bearing pressure of 3500 psf (dead load plus full live load). b. Foundation and retaining walls have been designed using a lateral pressure of 50 pcf. C. Footings shall be placed on the natural undisturbed soil, or compacted structural fill per the recommendations of the geotechnical engineer, below frost depth. d. This foundation has been designed according to the design recommendations set forth in geotechnical report #104 254 by HP Geotech. The contractor shall follow the construction requirements from this same report. e. Provide continuous foundation drains around the perimeter of all basement walls and at the base of retaining walls. Concrete design is based on the "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete" (ACI 318) as adopted by Chapter 19 of the 2003 IBC. b. Structural concrete shall have a minimum 28 -day compressive strength of 3000 psi. C. Concrete shall be proportioned using Type 1 -11 sulfate- resistant cement. Admixtures containing chloride salts shall not be used. d. Cold weather concreting procedures shall be provided as recommended in the ACI Manual of Concrete Practice. e. Anchor bolts for beam and column bearing plates shall be placed with setting templates. f.
