Name of Applicant * Gerald Meremonte Phone Number * 9703761183 E-mail * miramontiarchitect@comcast.net Duties and Requirements of the B&FCA Board Members Duties of the BFCAB include hearing appeals of aggrieved parties, reviewing equivalency of alternative building materials and methods of construction, and providing interpretations of the town building and fire codes. The board serves as technical advisors to the Town Council regarding the adoption, compliance, intent, modification and amendment of the building and fire codes. BFCAB members shall be qualified by experience, knowledge, and training to pass on matters pertaining to building construction, codes and standards, hazards of fire or fire protection systems, such as: a licensed architect; a licensed engineer with structural, mechanical, electrical, or fire protection engineering experience; a construction company owner, executive, superintendent, or other manager; or any other individual with similar experience, knowledge, and training. What is the true intent of the series of I-Codes that are adopted by the Town of Vail?* The first purpose of course is life safety. Then to provide a minimum standard of detailing for construction methods & the latest environmental issues. Do you feel that you can render fair and impartial decisions on appeals brought forth to the Board?* Yes... I do not live in the town of Vail & I do not have an agenda. I have operated a private architecture practice in Eagle County since 1989. And have lived here since 1979. During that 10-year period I worked in the construction industry as carpenter on a variety of projects in the Vail area. Availability The BFCAB meets on the 2nd Thursday of every month, as needed. Attendance is critical as it provides for broad representation on matters before the board.  Please describe your availability to attend the meetings and identify any conflicts of interest that may arise due to your employment, personal and/or professional relationships or financial interests in the Town of Vail.* My attendance record for the past year shows this ability.
