1. Call to Order

3. Main Agenda
3.1 Approval of August 7, 2023 minutes.
• August 7, 2023 - Minutes.pdf
3.2 Review and adoption of 2023 – 2028 AIPP Strategic Plan.
• Board unanimously adopts the new Five-Year AIPP Strategic Plan.
3.3 Artist in Residence 2024 Summer Programming, Annual Studio Programming and
Budget Discussion
o Develop annual program:
▪ Review potential types of residencies and partners.
▪ Molly to have additional meetings with Betty Ford Alpine Gardens and Bravo!Vail.
▪ Review of artists and other residency programs.
▪ Annual budget discussion for programming.
▪ Develop fundraising goals – annual & in-kind sponsorship.
▪ Acquisition goals and objective from Strategic Plan – Create an exceptional and diverse
art collection.
▪ Develop materials/collateral around the residency.
▪ Goals for Summer 2024.
▪ Installation of commissioned Squire Broel sculpture – late June 2024 – create a public
celebratory event.
▪ Vail Artist Residency Friends – implement a group of volunteers this to support Artist
Residency.
▪ Molly, Lindsea and Jenifer Marx (AIPP volunteer) will meet with CU Boulder’s – College
of Media, Communication, and Information - for AIPP to participate in a Capstone senior
class project. She will also research additional marketing opportunities for the program.
3.4 Funding approval for Summer 2023 residency sculpture commission
• Courtney motions to approve funding of $30,000 for the proposed sculpture commission by Squire
Broel with balance of funds in the amount of $30,000 to be matched by Vicki and Kent Logan.
• The Board unanimously approves the funding of $30,000 and to enter a contract with the artist.
4. Coordinator Updates.
• Carved stone riddles on Wall Street to be repainted and sealed by Amy Dose week of September 18.
• The minimal landscaping at new Male Baseball #1 sculpture is out to bid by Gregg Barrie, TOV
Landscape Architect. The area has been cleaned up regarding irrigation and weeding. He has designed
a zero scape as we anticipate many photo opportunities in proximity to the sculpture. The plaque
should arrive by the end of the month.
• Molly will have the final “Art Donation to the Town of Vail’s Public Art Collection” forms approved by
Town Attorney.
