designed engineered drawing as far as BCER Engineering drawings and specifications. This includes the
locations of initiating and notification devices and their coverage,as well as sprinkler locations and
coverage. The comments below should be addressed by the contractor by attachment of a letter prior to
submittal to the fire depaRment for review and issuance of a permit. It would be my opinion that the
comments listed below do not need to be resubmitted to BCER Engineering for our review and comment.
The current design meets the intent of the fire alarm and fire sprinkler design and our engineered

dated July 13, 2007.
Dear Charlie:
Pursuant to 2003 IBC Section 106.3.4, this is to inform you that 4240 Architecture, as the registered
architectural design professional in responsible charge for the Arrabelle Project, has reviewed the above
referenced proposed retail tenant improvement construction documents. To the best of our knowledge,
we find these documents compatible with the approved construction documents for the Arrabelle Project,
with the exception of one issue requiring additional documentation by the retail tenar�t's architect as
follows:
• A 3" thick floor topping is required in both spaces to meet finish grade at the entrance doors.
The allowable load of the topping is limited to approximately 25 psf. The rE:tail tenant architect '
should provide an addendum to the drawings providing a description of the proposed topping
that falls within the load requirement. Options for this topping include, but are not limited to: 1.)
3" 'gyperete' or light weight concrete; or, 2.) 1 '/z" normal weight concrete on 1 '/z" rigid
insulation.
