RE: FIRE ALARM SYSTEM REVIEW LETTER; VAIL FRONT DOOR — BUILDING C: SKI CLUB, 174 EAST GORE CREEK DRIVE, VAIL, COLORADO 81657, BCER PROJECT #45006002 Dear Mike McGee: Essentially the fire alarm submittal for the area covered by the submittal complies with previously designed engineered drawing as far as BCER Engineering drawings and specifications. This includes the locations of initiating and notification devices and coverage. The comments below should be addressed by the contractor by attachment of a letter prior to submittal to the fire department for review and issuance of a permit. It would my opinion that the comments listed below do not need to be resubmitted to BCER Engineering for our review and comment and that the current design meets the intent of the fire alarm design and our engineered drawings and specifications. • Smoke detectors in Great Room C200 are approximately 33.5 feet apart. Provide additional detector(s) so that detector spacing does not exceed 30 feet. • CO detection in vestibules attached to the parkin alarm scope of work. CO detection is included in he Mechanical portion of this s as proje t as not ed in the construction documents. • Operation of firetSmoke dampers for CO detection and fan exhaust shall not be included as part of the fire alarm scope of work. Control of dampers is included in the Mechanical portion of this project as noted in the construction documents. Remove control of fire/smoke dampers due to CO levels from the sequence of operation. A new addressable 410OU fire alarm control panel will be located within Building C. Stair CSOI and Elevator #1 are pressurized and there will be a smoke management system and panel associated with them. New addressable heat and smoke detectors are provided throughout the floors due to the smoke management system. New addressable pull stations are provided at all exits and at the fire alarm control panel. Control modules ore provided for elevator recoil, shunt trip, and firefighter's cob light. The elevator shafts are not sprinkled but do have vents at the top of the shafts so there are smoke detectors located in the top of the elevator shafts. Multi - candela speaker/strobe and strobe only devices provide notification in all common areas. All strobes will be synchronized.
