The Town Code does not permit retaining walls in excess of 6 feet. Please revise.਍ഀ The boulders that are stacked around the transformer have been installed in such a way that਍ഀ there are large boulders at the bottom of the wall that are 3-4 feet tall with a dirt bench above਍ഀ that will be planted with natural grasses then there is another row of boulders that are about 3'਍ഀ tall. There is not a continues wall of boulders and the wall does not retain anything it is there to਍ഀ bring the grade up and onto the lid of the garage aesthetically. The boulders create the natural਍ഀ look of a hill to bury the parking garage. The placement of the boulders has been looked at਍ഀ with George Ruther on site and matches the description and agreement of what this area is਍ഀ to look like.਍ഀ 2) You depict a fence on top of the roof deck of the parking structure. George stated that in਍ഀ conversations on site it was discussed that this fence would be a little more organic/undulating਍ഀ and possibly further south on the roof so that it was not so visible from the Frontage Road.਍ഀ Furthermore, Ron Constein stated that you intend to plant landscaping in front of the fence to਍ഀ break it up and screen it somewhat. Please provide a revised landscaping plan showing any਍ഀ new landscaping.਍ഀ The fence on the lid of the garage is placed in such a way as to protect from people walking up਍ഀ on to the structure using the minimum amount of fencing while still weaving it through the਍ഀ landscape. If the fence moves to the south this could potentially result in a fall hazard. Refer to਍ഀ ASI 175 attached for the revised landscaping that shows tree and shrub planting on both sides਍ഀ of the fence, additionally there will be native grasses planted on the lid of the garage an in the਍ഀ front hill that will screen the fence from view.਍ഀ 3) George expressed concern with regard to the emergency power generator. The installed਍ഀ generator is larger than the generator which was approved. Staff has concerns regarding the਍ഀ sign and the screening of the generator. George has informed that this has been discussed on਍ഀ site and that a resolution/solution is being discussed to deal with the visibility of the generator.਍ഀ Once a resolution is reached please depict that on a set of revised plans.਍ഀ The emergency generator has spruce and aspen trees placed in front of the generator to਍ഀ create a landscape screen wall this planting has been reviewed by George in the field,਍ഀ file://CADocuments and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\490B27... 11/04/2008਍ഀ Page 2 of 2਍ഀ also ASI 189 directs the contractor to paint the generator to match the stone wall behind it.਍ഀ 4) Submit a overall revised landscaping plan which depicts the new retaining walls and the਍ഀ landscaping to be planted in these clouded areas.਍ഀ Refer to ASI 175 attached this document revises the site conditions, the landscape and the site਍ഀ fence.਍ഀ Please let me know if I can provide you with any additional information or if you would like to਍ഀ meet on site to review these items.
