HomeMy WebLinkAboutNorth Day Lot Notes~ Memorandum to File March 2, 2009 Planner: Warren Campbell The information contained in this file pertains to the discussion which occurred regarding the collocation of a transit center and employee housing on the North Day Lot. After several design iterations and multiple public reviews it was determined that the Town did not want to pursue anything more than skier drop-off and employee housing on the site, both of which were obligation of Vail resorts from the Arabelle project. These items are included with the approved plans for the North Day Lot simply to serve as a history for future inquiries regarding the North Day Lot. ~ (09/02/2008) George Ruther -Meeting Results -North Day Lot -Dec. 21 and 27 Page 1 From: "Dominic Mauriello" <dominic@mpgvail.com> "~ To: <allison@mpgvail.com>, <Curtis.Rowe@kimley-horn.com>, "David Dowling" <d... If there is something you do not agree with please let me know. Friday's Meeting at Public Works 12/21/07: Temporary Skier Drop off: Hall Bridge over entrance is not required for pedestrian path per Greg NDL in General: '~ ~ Look at resolving traffic conflicts and traffic flow Look at development plan scenarios encroaching into the setbacks along the north side. Can look at encroaching on TOV land but will require convincing of Town Council and could prove difficult. When the transportation plan was contemplated in 1998 the buses were smaller and required less space Buses will not be parked for extended periods of time as they do at the Vail Transportation Center The Town's funding for the construction of the transportation facility needs to be identified or secured so that we don't move forward and get approval for a facility that cannot be funded Meeting with Warren and George 12/27/07: Temporary Skier Drop off: George felt that plan could be processed as a DRB application rather than a PEC application but would need to discuss with Greg Hall Submit a letter showing the CDOT access permit had been applied for with application _..,_ (01/02/2008) George Ruther -Meeting Results -North Day Lot -Dec. 21 and 27 Page 2 NDL in General Staff to discuss transportation programming (i.e., types of users and numbers of bus stops/spaces to be provided) and funding internally to provide VR with some direction Submittal does not require an EIR but would require drainage study and traffic study (soils if available) Employee parking should be considered on-site in addition to parking necessary for employee housing Provide letter or other proof that submittal was also made to CDOT Provide plans or obtain signoffs from utilities providers with application MPG to begin drafting master plan amendment language to run by staff transportation area Need to look as closely at pedestrian circulation as vehicles in Consider clear illustrations of circulation Need to have a plan for no net loss of parking (VR indicated it to be provided in Ever Vail parking structure as currently planned) Walls limited in height to 6' -look at screening of buses more internal to the bus stop area instead of along the exterior Town Council hearing on Jan. 8 to discuss master plan (education session) Town Council hearing on Jan. 22 to further discuss master plan and potential amendments thereto Meet every Thursday at 10:30 am instead of bi-weekly Thanks, Dominic F.
