Units that are grouped around and open to common spaces enhance the sense of neighborhood and reinforce the community character. Glazing (i.e. windows) that is oriented to these spaces creates a transparency and awareness of neighborhood activities. On the other hand, units that orient away from common spaces and that are visually isolated from one another emphasize privacy.
