2. Specific Campaign to Promote Neighborhood Meeting on Feb 13th
'J Sandwich boards from PW: I will order these, place in key locations for public info
Newspaper Ad- Suzanne- Can we put a very simple ad in the daily? I will contact Christine Cutter for
pricing. Perhaps an ad for a week leading up to event.
Flyers- will make simple flyers to put up at supermarket
Postcard- send postcard to West vail residents.. or should we just send to whole town.. Scot, see the budget
I sent you from 2020 for approx pricing. For the postcard, I think a simple photo of the site on one side with a
bit of text, then just text on the other side will do. i will also call Old Gypsum for pricing.

r To West Vail Property owners;
As you well know, the Town of Vail is undergoing a tremendous renaissance. West Vail
is no different. Work on the West Vail Master Plan calls for many new and exciting
improvements to our neighborhood.
As an owner of four properties in West Vail (Vail View Town homes 2427 Chamonix Ln
#6,7,8&9), I have investigated the possibility of making improvements and found that
several anomalies exist in the Town Code in West Vail. It is my goal to work with Town
Staff to update the codes and correct these problems.
There appears to be several discrepancies in the current Town Code for the West Vail
neighborhood. The most obvious flaw is where existing High Density Condominiums
are actually zoned as Primary/Secondary. My goal is to have TOV staff take a closer
look at the code and make the necessary corrections. These corrections will allow West
Vail to keep pace with the improvements occurring throughout the rest of our
community.
This letter is to solicit the support of homeowners in West Vail. Corrections to the
current zoning will make it easier for all homeowners to make various improvements to
their property. Some of the benefits would include the following:
1. More accurately reflect actual current land usage.;
2. Create adequate parking;
3. Improve the quality and design of older buildings;
4. Enhance curb appeal;
5. Increase the value of your property;
6. Project a better image in conjunction with the Master Plan redevelopment of West
Vail.

I spoke with Fred Morrison, the ambulance district manager, regarding their interest in participating in the W. Vail fire
station proposal. He is going to contact his board and get a consensus then send a letter off to us indicating whether they
will or will not be involved. As an aside their lease runs through 2023 at the hospital.

TOWN OF VAIL TO CONSIDER ACQUISITION OF WEST VAIL FIRE STATION SITE THROUGH CONDEMNATION
(Vail)*The Vail Town Council has instructed its attorney to prepare a resolution expressing its intent to condemn the Wendy's
restaurant site in West Vail. The town has been working for more than six months to purchase the property to be used for a fire
station. In April, the town signed an agreement with Wend Vail Partnerships, Ltd., to buy the property for $2 million. Since then, a
dispute has emerged in which legal action has been filed in Eagle County District Court between the current owner of the property,
CNL APF Partners, and the tenant, Wend Vail Partnerships.
Following an executive session on Nov. 7 in which the Town Council was advised of the dispute, the Council voted 5 to 2 to direct
Town Attorney Matt Mire to prepare a condemnation resolution for the Council's consideration in an attempt to acquire the property
in the most efficient manner possible. Condemnation, according to Mire, could enable the town to take possession of the site prior
to the court's resolution of the dispute between the current owner and the tenant.
The town has been actively pursuing creation of a West Vail fire station since acquisition of the nearby Chamonix property four
years ago. Relocating the fire station from the Chamonix property to the Wendy's site is considered a better option because it would
improve the Fire Department's ability to maneuver its equipment and positions the station farther away from the neighborhood.
Town Manager Stan Zemler says it is important to proceed with design of a fire station on the Wendy's site and to update the
master plan for the Chamonix property to address community needs required of both sites.
The condemnation resolution will be considered by the Town Council at its Nov. 17 meeting.
