General Information:
This application is required for all proposals involving minor changes to buildings and site improvements, such as re-
roofing, painting, window additions, landscaping, fences, retaining walls, etc. Applicable Vail Town Code sections can be
reviewed on-line at www.vailoov.com under Vail Information -Town Code On-line. All projects requiring design review
must receive approval prior to submitting a building permit application. An application for Design Review cannot be
accepted until all required information is received by the Community Development Department, as outlined in the submittal
requirements. Design review approval expires one year from the date of approval, unless a building permit is issued and
construction commences.

Project Narrative -
The Golden Peak Childrens Center proposes to renovate the exterior of the
building with the purpose of upgrading the finishes to become more
compatible with the adjacent Golden Peak base facilities.
The changes in finishes include a new concrete the roof, addition of a stone
base at the entry with the existing columns clad in stone, and new white stucco
trim added to the existing windows. The finishes and details are intended to
match those on the adjacent base facilities. We have included images of the
adjacent base facility for reference.
The roof at the east and west entries to the building would also be extended to
create a covered entry element with matching stone columns. This would not
result in any additional interior building floor area but create an architectural
element for the entries that currently does not exist.

COMMENTS:
Jen, enclosed is a package for submission to the DRB for the November 10th
deadline to be placed on the agenda for the December 3, 2008 meeting. I
believe that I have included everything required that is applicable to the
proposed renovation. The only item that you may still require is the title report
to verify ownership, although I believe it was already provided at the time of the
interior remodel in 2006. Please give me a call with any questions or if
anything additional is needed to satisfy the requirements.
