BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE TIME FRAME If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works) review and approval, a Planning Department review or Health Department review, and a review by the Building Department, the estimated time for a total review may take as long as three weeks. All commercial (large or small) and all multi - family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of time.
