The review is complete . lt is acceptable as drawn with these comments 1 ) Handraii height shall be between a minimum of 34" to a maximum of 38" measured above the stair tread nosing . 2003 IBC section 1009 . 11 . 1 2 ) Handrail graspability shall complywith 2003 IBCsection 1009 . 11 .3 { many alternatives quoted in code , ' section ) 3) Handrail extensions are required to extend 12° horizontally beyond top riser and continue for the width of a tread at the bottom . 2003 IBC section 1009. 11 .5 4 ) Each handraii shall terminate at the newel post. 2003 IBC section 1009 . 11 .5 ', , 5 ) Threshold at the door can not exceed %2' in height.2003 IBC section 1008 . 1 .6 6) Some type of formal submital and building permit application is required to replace the existing double doors with the new single door configuration .
