My understanding is the gas was existing but a insert was done and put in. So what are our options? Can we leave the fireplace inoperable with the gas off, key removed until the permit goes through and you have time to inspect it? Would making the fireplace inoperable then allow us to get the electrical final, and your inspection of the rest of the unit? Then allowing occupancy for the 22nd? With the influx of request for permits where is the permit in terms of getting approval, bottom of the pile or top?
