Re: Stephens Residence
1170 A casolar Del NortePerrnit I49L5
Dear Mike,
This letter is to clarify the scope of the repair work done on the
Stephens residence.
Per Monroe Engineering's letter dated uay L7, 199L Beck and
AssociateE excavated at the east and hrest walls of the undermined
garage slab. A l-5" wide by LOrt thicl< footing (reinforced with two
#5 rebar continuously) was added the full length of each ltaragewall below the frost line. The wall lras reinforced vertically with
#5 rebar every 16rr O.C.
An 8r' CMU wall was constructed on the footing up to the bottom ofthe thiclcened slab. A11 cells rirere grouted. The wall was
reinforced vertically with #5 rebar at 15rr o.c. and horizontally atnid wall sith one #5 rebar. The top of the wall was reinforcedwith two #5's and the vall was grouted to the existing thickened
slab to provide bearing.
After backfilling, the void under the existing garage slab wasfilled with grout to provide fulI bearing for the slab.
Mike tlhitaker
Town of Vail
7 /t2/eLPage 2
The entry and driveway slabs were cut clean and the new slabs werereinforced with #5 rebar doweled into the existing slabs at 16'l
each direction. New slabs nere poured to conform to the existingslab elevations.
A1I work matched the configuration prior to work done to repair
danage caused by a broken water supply during the winter.
Should you have any further questions, feel free to call me.
Sincerely,
