BUILDING PERMIT ISSUANCE TIME FRAME If this permit requires a Town of Vail Fire Department Approval, Engineer's (Public Works) review and approval, a Planning Department review or Health Department review, and a review by the BuiHing Depaftment, the estimated time for a total review will take as long as three (3) weeks, All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of time. However, if residential or smaller p@ects impact the various above mentioned depaftments with regard to necessary review, these projects may also take three (3) weeks to review and approve. The concemed project as indicated by the DRB application is for the removal of a minor amount of earth within the basement area of Mr. McCluer's condo unit. Additiona[y, I\dr. McCluer would like the addition of a consrete slab floor within the room. Upon extensive examination we have determined that only minor alterations will be necessary to the foundation to accomplish this goal. While examining Mr. McCluer's unit we were able to make a direct correlation to tlre work methods initiated and completed within the unit of Mr. Trueblood in #16 of the same oomplex, In the case of Mr. McCluer the desired headroom and room design will allow us to remain mostly above the foundation for the duration of the renovation. It is the desire of Mr. McCluer to expand the headroom of his basement by an average of approximately lft. Unfortunately, there is one section of wall area known to require foundation reinforcement as per multi-family dvvelling structural codes. Fortunately this section of uall will be permanently supported by the original footing stucture throughout the entirety of the renovation. The affected area is marked on the attached floor plan. The known area is a 6fr length of fte dividing wall locare,d in the up,per right corner. It is possible that the same reinforcement method may be necessary on the rear (top) wall as well however it is possible this wall foundation does already extend below the required depth for our project. If necessary, tlre same method (indicared by the formdation support modification skerch) will be used on the rear wall as well. We will be happy to provide a certified copy of the engineering evaluation approval of this sketch upon request.
