* My proposal is to restore the land adjacent to our property at 2730 Bald Mtn Road. I know the
"Open Space" as Tract A —13th Filing.
Over the last few years there has been much construction going on in our Open Space (our
neighborhood is proud of our greenway and take unofficial ownership with the town). TOV
trucks, CDOT vehicles, most utility companies who have utilities running through the area, many
local and out of town contractors who are doing business here in the greenway, most recently:
Schofield Excavation. While, for the most part they are respectful of the area, they are not nearly
as keen on things as us town folks bordering the Open Space. So as you may guess, the surface
gets pretty beat up.
* Included in my proposal I would donate to the Town of Vail the materials (topsoil, grass seed,
hay, etc.), labor, and future maintenance to keep this area natural and beautiful looking for all
town citizens and our guests to enjoy in many ways.
* My plan is to start this project in the spring of 2013 when the snow has melted and the ground
has dried out. Realistically that would probably some time in May, maybe June, depending on
our snow pack and spring melt.
Thank you for your consideration. I know when that grass starts to come in, everyone will be
pleased and it will be a win -win for everyone concerned.

The Proposal for Re- Beautifying Open Space
Hello — My name is Crawford Pierce. My wife Liv and our family live at 2730 Bald Mountain
Road, the property adjacent to the town "Open Space" Property, known to me as: Tract A/13'h

* My proposal is to restore the land on the eastern part of the "Open Space" back to a: grass
supporting, natural looking, area that it used to be. (Show Photos showing evolution of
properties)
* I would like to donate to the Town of Vail the materials, labor, and future maintenance to keep
this area natural and beautiful looking for all town citizens and our guests to enjoy in many
ways.
* My problem is I started this project without an official landscaping permit from the TOV
* I received a warning from Leonard Sandoval and a "cease and desist" verbal warning from
Moses Gonzonles, which I obeyed. Later my wife and I met with Officer Rich Sandelli and
finally he issued me a summons to appear in court on Jan 10th.
* I would like to move forward with this project in a legitimate, friendly and efficient way, and
