Re: Illegal signage
Dear Ms. Fritz:
One of the many functions of Code Enforcement is to provide for the enforcement of the
Town of Vail Municipal Codes.
It has come to our attention that the above-described property may be in violation of the
Town of Vail Municipal Codes as follows:
Reported Violation(s): You have an illegal signs at this location. Section 12-11-
3 (DESIGN A PPR OVA L) of the Town Code states, in part, that:
A. Scope: No person shall commence...sign erection...within the corporate
limits of the Town unless design approval has been granted as prescribed in
this Chapter.
Section 11-5-2 (PROHIBITED SIGNS) of the Town Code states, in part, that:
G. Signs not permanently affixed or attached to the ground or to any structure
except for window signs and temporary barriers utilized for emergency
purposes.
J. Any sign which obstructs free ingress to or egress from a required door,
window,fire escape or other required exit way.
We are asking that you remove the daily special board placed near the bottom of the
stairs (it was blocking access to the handicap lift) and also complete a DRB application
for the approval of your Business ID sign which includes your menu display box.
Please remedy this situation within 15 calendar days from receipt of this letter. Failure
to do so will result in a summons being issued.
Your prompt attention regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated and will help
assure that Vail continues to be the desirable and pleasant resort community for which we
