All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of time. The owner wants us to relocate the stacked unit to a new location that will require us to reroute the vent to the dryer down into the crawl space so that it can be re-connected to the existing vent line that exhausts to the exterior. The question I have is this. Gan the round dryer vent be connected to a new rectangular duct installed in the 2xG wall cavity between the condo and the garage? lt would be installed through the bottom plate and into the crawl space where it would transition into the existing dryer vent line. ls this acceptable per code? Another question regarding venting of the new kitchen hood. The unit was originally built with a Jennaire downdraft unit, so there is an existing vent line to the exterior as shown on the building plans. The owner wants to put in an updraft unit, but we don't want to furrdown any areas to route the new overhead duct to the exterior. lf we can install a rectangular duct in the pafi wall between the units we can vent down to the crawl space and connect to the existing line. ls this accdeptable under the code?
