TOWN OF VAIL ELECTRICAL PERMIT GUIDELINES All installations of exterior hot tubs or spa's require a DRB approval from planning. This application will not be accepted without a copy of the DRB approval form attached (if applicable). If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tub or spa on a new elevated platform or deck over 30" above grade, you must also obtain a building permit. If this permit is for installation of an exterior hot tub or spa on any existing deck or elevated platform, a structural engineer must review the existing condition and verifo that it will support the added concentrated load. Please provide a copy of the structural engineers wet stamped letter or drawing with this application. If this is a remodel in a multi-family building with a homeowners association, a letter of permission from the association is required. o If this permit is for a commercial space, two (2) sets of stamped drawings are required. This report is based on replicating a previous remodel and on a visual observation of the condition of ttre previous unit specified without disturbing any of the finish/construction materials, and does not represent design review, a code compliance check, or slructural analysis beyond the scope indicated. The spiral staircase is moving a short distance towards the halhr€y wall within an approximate g'-4'space. The new opening to be created in the upper floor fiaming is approximately 5'-4" x 5'-4'. To accomplish fris, a 4x8 beam must be removed, and a new header will have to be placed at the edge of the opening to support the existing and new 2x tongue and groove flooring as shown below. All new headers/beams shall consist of (2)- 2x8's (or a 4x8) Doug Fir f2 or better. All new hangers for these beams shall be Simpson LUS26-2. Also, the doors for each of the bathrooms (main & upper level) and, hence, the adjacent walls must be moved. These walls may be moved, but contact us if the upper floor joists/purlins are spliced on the main floor wall. Also, the walls at the edge of the upper floor will be removed and replaced with a railing system. These walls appear to be non-load bearing and may be removed. CODES 7.3A.I AND 7.3A.3: PARKING OBSTRUCTING TRAFFIC & IMPOUNDMENT AUTHORIZED No person shall park any vehicle upon a street or at any other place within this Municipality in such a manner or under such conditions as to interfere with the free movement of vehicular tmffic or proper street or highway maintenance. (ord. 2(1e68) $ 1) Whenever any police officer finds a vehicle attended or unattended, standing upon any portion of a street or upon any place within this Municipality in such a manner as to constitute a violation of any section of this Article, or left unattended for a period of twenty four (24) hours or more and presumed to be abandoned under the conditions prescribed by Colorado Revised Statutes section 42-4-1102, as amended, the officer shall require the vehicle to be removed or cause it to be removed and placed in storage in the nearest garage or other place of safety designated or maintained by this Municipality, and the charges for towing and storage of such vehicle shall be charged to the owner of the vehicle in addition to a ten dollar ($10) impoundment charge. Thousands of people come to Vail each year to sightsee, recreate, shop and to enjoy everything the Vail Valley has to offer. The community and merchants rely upon our guests to generate revenue. Our summerfuvinter guests expect a pleasant experience while in Vail. To insure that all of the proposed construction has as little negative impact on the community and on our guest as possible, the Town of Vail finds it imperative to create and implement the Vail Village and LionsHead Village Construction Hours Handout. It would be irresponsible for the Town of Vail, the construction contractors and the merchants, to not actively participate to minimize the impact of construction in the Vail and LionsHead Village areas. The Vail Village Streetscape Project will continue through 2006. lmprovements scheduled for 2006 wil! be concentrated along Gore Creek Drive west of the Children's Fountain, Gore Greek Promenade and around the frontage of the Mill Greek Gourt Building. Additional streetscape improvements are scheduled to begin along East Meadow Drive. All construction projects and/or remodels within the Vail Village Gore Area should contact Scott Bf uhm, Town of Vail Streetscape Coordinator, at97O477-U18 for further information. Givens The following givens are intended to provide the basic foundation by which construction will be completed in the villages: . The public's health, safety and welfare shall be honored at all times. . Adequate pedestrian, loading/delivery, vehicle, and emergency vehigle access and circulation shall be maintained. o Roadways and pedestrian walkways shall be kept clean and free of dirt and debris. . All construction deliveries, equipment, tools and materials entering the Vail Village and pedeskian areas must go through CheckPoint Charlie. All LionsHead construction activity must go to the Vail Police Department for a parking permit. Do not use delivery zones for construction parking; refer to approved staging plan or make other anangements for parking. r The hours of outside construction activity shall be as follows: - April 15 - June 23 & September 5 - November 17, 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., seven days a week. June 30 thru September 1, work must end by 4:00 p.m. on Fridays. November 13 - April 15,2OO7 work allowedwithin daylight hours only. - Deliveries shall be restricted to the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Gore Creek Drive and 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Bridge Street' - Special construction delivery permits must be requested in advance from Public Works in conjunction with Code Enforcement at Checkpoint Charlie. - No construction activity shall occur on Saturday or Sunday between June 26 and September 3.
