ORDINANCE N0. 2
AN ORDINANCE CREATING TH$ P05ITIbN OP TOWN TREASURER OF THE TOWN
OF VAIL AND SETTING FORTH THE FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILI-
TIES OP SAID TOWN TREASURER.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF VAIL:
SECTION ~.. OFFICE AND DUTIES
The Board of Trustees of the Town of Vail hereby creates
the office and position of Town Treasurer of the Town of Vail.
The functions, duties and responsibilities of the Town Tredsurer
sha11 be as follows:
(a) To perform all duties of Town Treasurer as pre-
scribed by ordinance or state law.'
{b) To be the custodian of ail monies of the Town,
and all evidences of indebtedness belonging to
the 'own or head in trust by the Town,
(c) To collect all monies of the Town, the collection
of which is not prescribed elsewhere by ordinance
ar state law and to receive from other officers
and employees of the Town all monies belonging to'
and receivable by the Town that may be collected by
such officers and employees, including fines,
license fees, taxes, assessments, and other
charges. All manias shall be turned over to
the Treasurer after collection or receipt by any
officer or employee of the Town. The Town
Treasurer shall give receipts for all monies
of the Town collected by or turned over to him.

(d) Ta keep and deposit all monies or funds in
such manner and only in such places as shall
be prescribed by ordinance or state law.
(e) To disburse all Town funds in accordance with
the provisions and prpcedures prescribed by
arditnance or state law.
(f) To render such accounts and to give such reports
to the Board of Trustees as are required by
ordinance or state law as frequently and at
such times as he may be directed at the
request of the Board of Trustees, but in no
event shall the Treasurer render such accounts
or give such reports less frequently than re-
quired by ordinance or state haw.
(g) To render accounts and reports monthly, or
oftener if required by the Board of Trustees,
to the Town Coordinator showing the state of
the treasury, and a full and detailed account
of all receipts and expenditures of the caxpor-
ation as shown by the books of the treasurer
up to the time of his report.
(h) To prepare, file, and publish all accounts,
reports, records, schedules, and other materials
with the persons or in the offices and in the
manner provided by ordinance or state law.
SECTION 2, APPOINTMENT
The Town Treasurer shall be appointed by, and serve
at the pleasure of the Board of Trustees, but in no event sha11
his appointment continue beyond one week after the qualifications

of the members of the Board of Trustees fox office following their
election as prescribed ~y law. At such time the Tawn Treasurer may
be reappointed.
SECTION 3. C(]MPENSATION
The +compensa~~ion of tie Txeasu~rer shall be determined
by resolution of the Board of Trustees:
SECTION 4. EFFECTIVE HATE
This ordinance shall be in full foxce and effect within
thirty days after its approval by the Boaicd of Trustees and final
publa.cation as prescribed by law.
SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY
"It is the intention of the Board of Trustees that this
ordinance or any part or provision thereof, shall. be considered
severable and, if any provision of this ordinance or the applai.cation
thereof to any person ar circumstance is held invalid, such in-
validity sha11 not affect other provisions or applications of the
ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or
application, and to this end the provisions of this ordinance are
declared to be severable."
