"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1$, SERIES OF 1966,
BY THE ADDITION OF TWO NEW SUBSECTIONS DEFINING AND
DECLARING ICE AND SNOW OVERHANGS AND ICE ON PUBLIC SIDE-
WALKS AND WAYS A5 NUISANCES."
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE TOWN OF
VAIL:
Section 1. A,mendxnent.
That Section 2 of Ordinance No. I$, Series of 1966, entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE DEFINING PUBLIC NUISANCES WITHIN THE
TOWN OF VAIL AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION
AND PROCEDURES FUR THE ABATEMENT THEREOF. "
is hereby amended by the addition of the following two subpaxagraphs:
Section 2.

f. Ice and Snow Overhangs. -- No property owner shall allow or
permit ice or snow to project or overhang from the roof, ledge,
doorway, window sill or balcony of any building or structure awned
by hixn where thexe is any reasonable passibility that ice or snow
overhangs, or water resulting therefrom, might fall, collapse or
drop ants any sidewalk, street, alley, public passageway, public
park, or any other publicly used ways.
g. Ice on Sidewalks or Public Passageways. -- No property owner
shall allow or permit dangerous ice conditions to occur or continue +
on any sidewalks or any public pedestxian passageways that are loca-
ted on his property.
Section 2. Emergencv•
The Board of Txustees finds and determines that the passage of this
Ordinance is necessary for the izxxznediate preservation of the public
health and safety of the inhabitants of the Town of Vail, and that this
Ordinance shall become effective Five (5) days after publication.
