AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 6 OF THE ORDINANCES OF
THE T04TN OF VAIL, 1969 SERIES, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE
"UNIFORM BUILDING CODE" 1967 EDITION: CHANGING CERTAIN REQUIRE-
MEPJTS FOR CONSTRUCTION: AND SETTING FOF.TH DETAILS RELATING THERE-
TO.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees for the Town of Vail
adopted ORDINANCE N0. SIX (6), Series of 1969, on the 12th
day of May, 1969, which duly adopted Ly ref~i•ence tl,e "Uniform
Building Code", 1967 Edition, and the "Uniform Mechanical Code",
1967 Edition, regulating i:~ie ccnstruction, alteration, repair,
removal, demolition, equipment, use and occupancy, location,
maintenance of buildings ~~nd other structures arrected in the
Town of Vail, and matters related thereto; and,
WHEREAS, The Board of Trustees has considered certain
amendments to the "Uniform Building Code", and finds that it is
necessary and proper to m~~ke certain changes set forth in the
provisions of said Building Code;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAI2dED BY TIDE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE TO4JN OF VAIL, COLC;:r~DO, THAT:
Section~l. "Section 1705 (b) 2 of the Uniform
Building Code, 1967 Edition, is hereby arnerded to read as follows:
Section 1705 (b) 2 '

~Y~ 2. I~Jood veneer of not less than one (1) inch
/ nominal thickness, or exterior type plywood not less
than three eighths (3/8ths) inch nominal thickness
may be applied to one hundred (100) percent of the
wall area of the first floor and thirty three and one-
third (33-1/3) percent of the wall area for each
story above the first floor, provided such wood
shall be placed either directly against fire re-
sistive incombustible surfaces or furred out from s
such surfaces not to exceed one and three-fourths
(1-3/4) inches with all concealed spaces fire stopped
as provided in Section 2508."
Section 2. The Board of Trustees find that this or-

that this ordinance shall become effective upon its int~~dtiction
and adoption and shall be published in accordance with tl,~ laws
of the State of Colorado.
