AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR
REGULAR AND SPECIAL MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES FOR THE TOWN OF VAIL, AND SETTING FORTH
DETAILS IN RELATION THERETO.
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees for the Town of Vail
has formerly scheduled regular meetings for the transaction of
official business on the second and fourth Mondays of each cal-
endar month, and now finds it would be in the public interest to
change the time for such regular meetings in order to encourage
greater attendance by the public; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees finds that a different
time for the regular meetings will be conducive to more productive
governmental activities and provide a move convenient means of
gaining public participation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES FOR THE TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO:
Section 1. Commencing in the month of September,
1971, the regular meetings for the Board of Trustees for the Town
of Vail shall be held on the first and third Tuesdays of each and
every calendar month, said meetings to be held within the Town
of Vail at such times and places which may be designated by the
Board of Trustees.
Section 2. In addition to regular meetings of the
Board of Trustees established and provided in this ordinance,
the Board of Trustees may from time to time schedule special
meetings to be held at any time or place within the corporate
boundaries of the Town of Vail.
Section 3. In order to conduct any official business,
there must be a quorum present at any regular or special meeting
of the Board of Trustees, and a quorum shall consist of a majority
of the elected members of said Board of Trustees. The Mayor shall
be the presiding officer at any such regular or special meetings,
and in his absence, the Mayor Pro-Tem shall serve as chairman.
Section 4. All regular or special meetings of the
Board of Trustees shall be open to the public. No notice shall
be required for any regular or special meeting of the Board of
Trustees; however, ,hen possible, the public will be advised
of the time and place of meetings scheduled in advance by the
Town Clerk.
Section 5. Any prior ordinance or resolution adopted
by the Board of Trustees establishing the time or place for hold-
ing regular meetings of the Board of Trustees is hereby repealed.
Section 6. The Board of Trustees hereby finds,
determines and declares that this Ordinance is necessary and proper
to provide for the safety, preserve the health, promote the pros-
perity, improve the morals, order, comfort and convenience of the
Town of Vail and the inhabitants thereof. This Ordinance shall be
in full force and effect within five days after its approval by
the Board of Trustees and final publication as prescribed by law.
