AN ORDINANCE MAKING A SUFFLEMENTAL
APPROPRIA'PTON FROM THE OPEN SPACE/CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS FUND OF THE 1976 BUDGET AND
FINANCIAL PLAN FOR THE TOWN OF VAIL,
COLORADO, AND AUTHORISING THE EXPENDITURE
OF SAID APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TWO TWIN COACH BUSES, PAYMENT OF SITE,
DEVELOPMENT COSTS AND EXPENSES FOR SITE
24, PAYMENT FOR THE GROWTH MANAGEMENT
STUDY, AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE BUILDING
TO BE USED AS A SKT MUSEUM
WHEREAS, contingencies hereinafter indicated have
arisen during the fiscal year 1976 which could not have been
reasonably foreseen or anticipated by the Town Council at the
time it enacted Ordinance No. 25, Series of 1975, adapting
the 1976 Budget and Financial Plan for the Town of Vail,
Colorado;
WHEREAS, the Town of Vail, Colorado, hereinafter
referred to as the "Town", has received certain revenues not
budgeted for previously;

WHEREAS, the Town previously adopted a Budget which
has not taken into consideration the increased revenues received
by the municipality this fiscal year, nar has said Budget taken
into consideration the increased expenditures required to pur-
chase the two buses, the Growth Management Study, site develop-
ment for Site 24, or improvements to the building that is to
be used as the Ski Museum;
WHEREAS, the Town Manager has certified to the Town
Council that sufficient funds are available to discharge the
appropriation referred to herein, not otherwise reflected in
the Budget, in accordance with Section 9.10 (a) of the Charter
of the Town of Vail, Colorado;
WHEREAS, the Town Council finds that it is in the
interest of the Town to purchase the two buses and to fund the
Growth Management Study, the site development for Site 24, and
improvements to the building that is to be used as the Ski
Museum;

WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the foregoing, the
Town Council finds that it should make a supplemental appro-~
priation in anticipation of receipt of expected revenues;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COL3NCIT~,
~i OF THE TOWN OF VATL, COT.,ORADO, AS FOhLOWS:
Section 1. Supplemental Appropriation from Open
Space/Capital Improvements Fund; Authorization
for Expenditure of Said Appropriation far the
Purchase of Two Twin Coach Buses, Payment for
Planning and Site Development Relating to Site
24, Payment for a Growth Management Study, and
Payment for Certain Improvements to the Town's
Building that is to be used as a Ski Museum.
Pursuant to Section 9.10{a) of the Charter of the
Town of Vail, Galorado, the Town Council hereby makes a supple-
mental appropriation in the sum of $149,000.00 from the Open
~,- Space/Capital Improvements Fund of the 1976 Budget and Financial
~ Plan for the Town of Vail, Colorado, and authorizes the expend-
iture of said appropriation as follows:
(a) Purchase of two Twin Coach buses -- $ 44,000.00
(b) Planning and site development
for Site 24 -- 50,000.00
(c} Growth Management Study -~ 25,000.00
(d) Improvements to building to be
used as Ski Museum (Phase I) - 30,000.00
Section 2. Council Authorization and Ratification.
The Town Council hereby authorizes and ratifies the
execution by the Mayor and the Town Manager of any contracts
or other necessary instruments to carry out the acts for which
funds are appropriated herein.
Section 3. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall. take effect five days after pub-
lication following the final passage hereof.

Section 4. Amendment to Annual Appropriation
Ordinance.
Upan its enactment this ordinance shall be an amend-
ment to the 1976 Annual Appropriation Ordinance, Ordinance
No. 25, Series of 1975, of the Town of Vail, Colorado.
INTRODUCED, READ ON FIRST READING, APPROVED, AND
ORDERED PUBLISHED ONCE TN FULL. this 20th day of Aprii, 1976,
and a public hearing on this ordinance sha~.l be held at the
regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Vail,
Colorado, on the ~~~' day of ~~~ , 1976, at
7:30 P.M., in the Municipal Building of the Town.

Pursuant to Section 9.10 (a) of the Charter of the Town of
Vail, Colorado, I hereby certify that based on apparently
~~ reliable information from the Finance Department there are
available for appropriation expected revenues in excess of
those estimated in the 1976 Budget and Financial Plan for
the Town of Vail which will enable the Town Council to make
a supplemental appropriation of $149,000.00 for the purchase
of two Twin Coach buses, payment of planning and site develop-
ment relating to Site 24, payment for a Growth Management
Study, and payment for certain improvements to the building
to be used as the Ski Museum.
Accordingly, Y recommend that the Town Council promptly enact
a supplemental appropriation ordinance for these purposes.
