FUND OF TIIE 1977 BUDGET AND FINANCIAL
PLAN FOR THE TOj"~N OF VAIL, COLORADO,

SAID APPROPRIATION AS SET FORTH HEREIN
•
WHEREAS, contingencies have arisen during the fiscal
year 1977 which could not have been reasonably foreseen or
anticipated by the Town Council at the time it enacted Ordinance
No. 35, Series of 1976, adopting the 1977 Budget and Financial
Plan for the Town of Vail, Colorado;
~'JIIEREAS, the Town of Vaal has received certain revenues
not budgeted for previously;
WHEREAS, the Town previously adopted a Budget which
has not tal~en into consideration the increased expenditures
required for the newly formulated Rural Transportation Der~onstra-
tion Program;
WHEREAS, the Town P~Tanager has certified to the Town
Council that sufficient funds are available to discharge the
appropriation referred to herein, not otherwise-reflected in the
Budget, in accordance with Section 9.10(a) of the Charter of the
Town of Vail, Colorado;
WHEREAS, the Town Council. finds that it is in the
interest of the Town to fund the above mentioned item; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the foreboing, the Town
Council finds that it should make a supplemental appropriation
from the Rural Transportation Demonstration Program Fund;
NOZ~1, TIiEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BX THE TOWN COUNC T L OF
THE T0~"lN OF VAIL, COLORADO, THAT:
(1} Pursuant to Section 9.10(a) of the Charter of the
Town of Vaii, Colorado, the Town Council hereby makes a supplemen-
tal appropriation in the sum of $17,000 from the Rural Transporta-
tion Demonstration Fund of the ].977 Budget and Financial Flan for
the Town of Vail, Colorado, and authorizes the expenditure of

said appropriation for initial organizational expenses of the
Program.
(2) The Town Council hereby authorizes and ratifies
the execution by the Mayor arad the Town ~44anager of any contracts
or other necessary instrur.-ents to carry out the acts for which
funds are appropriated herein.
{3) Upon its enactment, this ordinance shall be an
amendment to the 1977 Annual Appropriation Ordinance, Ordinance
No. 35, Series of 1976, of the Town of Vail, Colorado.
INTRODUCED, READ 0£1 FIRST READTNG, APPROVED, AND ORDERED
PUBLTSHED OPdCE TN FULL, this 6th day of December, 1977, and a
public hearing on this ordinance shall be held at the regular
meeting of the Tawn Council of the Town of Vail, Colorado, on the
20th day of December, 1977, at 7:30 I'.M, in the 1+Iunicipal Building
of the Tawn.

Re: Supplemental appropriation from the Rural Transportation
Demonstration Program Fund for initial organizational
expenses of the Program
Councilmembers:
Pursuant to Section 9.10(a) of the Charter of the Town of Vail,
Colorado, T hereby certify that based on reliable information
from the Finance Department there are available for appropriation
expected revenues in excess of those estimated in the 1977 Budget
and Financial Plan for the Town of Vail which will enable the
Town Council to make a supplemental appropriation of $17,000
from the Rural Transportation Demonstration Program Fund to cover
organizational expenses to begin the Program,
Accordingly, T recommend that the Town Council promptly enact a
supplemental appropriation ordinance for this purpose.
