AN ORDINANCE MAKING SUPPLE~~'IENTAL
APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE GENERAL FUND
AND THE OPEN SPACE/CAPITAL IMPROVE-
MENTS FUND OF THE 1978 BUDGET AND
FINANCIAL PLAN FOR THE TOWN OF VAIL,
COLORADO; AND AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDT-~
TURE OF SAID APPROPRIATIONS AS SET
FORTH HEREIN
WHEREAS, contingencies have arisen during the
fiscal year 1978 which could not, have been reasonably fore-
seen or anticipated by the Town Council. at the time it
enacted Ordinance No. 35, Series of 1977, adapting the 1978
Budget and Financial Plan for the Town of Vail, Colorado;
WHEREAS, the Town has received certain revenues
not budgeted for previously;
WHEREAS, the Tawn Manager has certified to the Town
Council that sufficient funds are available to discharge the
appropriations referred to herein, not otherwise reflected in
the Budget, in accordance with Section 9.10(a} of the Charter
of the Town of Vail; and
WHEREAS, in order to accomplish the foregoing, the
Town Council finds that it should make supplemental appropria--
tians from the General Fund and the Open Space/Capital Tmprave-
ments Fund;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF VAIL, COLORADO, THAT:
(1) Pursuant to Section 9.10 (a} of the Charter of
the Town of Vail, Colorado, the Town Council hereby makes a
supplemental appropriation in the sum of $32,400 from the
General Fund of the 1978 Budget and Financial Plan for the
Town of Vail, Colorado, and authorizes the expenditure of
said appropriation as follows:
(a) Property damage and
liability insurance $25,000
(b) Tawn Prosecutor 2,400
(c) Red Zinger Bicycle Classic 5,000

{2) Pursuant to Section 9.10 (a) of the Charter of
the Tawn of Vail, Colorado, the Town Council hereby makes a
supplemental appropriation in the sum of $11,000 from the Open
Space/Capital Improvements Fund of the 1978 Budget and Financial
Plan for the Town of Vail, and authorizes the expenditure of
said appropriation for site preparation and utilities reloca-
tion with regard to the ABC School's use of Town owned property.
(3) The Town Council hereby ratifies or authorizes
the negotiation of any contracts or other necessary instruments
to carry out the purpose for which funds are appropriated
herein, and the expenditure of the funds relating to these
supplemental appropriations.
{4) Upnn its enactment this ordinance shall be an
amendment to the 1978 Annual Appropriation Ordinance, Ordinance
Na. 35, Series of 1977, of the Town of Vail, Colorado.
INTRODUCED, READ ON FIRST READING, APPROVED, AND
ORDERED PUBLISHED ONCE IN FULL, this 21st day of March, 1978,
and a public hearing on this ordinance shall be held at the
regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Vail, Colo-
rado, on the nth day of April, 1978, at 7:30 P.M. in the Muni-
cipal Building of the Town.

RE: Supplemental appropriations from the General Fund and
the Open Space/Capital improvements Fund for funding
of property damage and liability insurance, Town Pro-
secutor, Red Zinger Bicycle Classic and site preparation
and utilities relocation for the ABC School
Councilmembers:
Pursuant to Section 9.10{a} of the Charter of the Town of Vail,
Colorado, T hereby certify that based on apparently reliable
information from the Finance Department there are available
for appropriation expected revenues in excess of those esti-
mated in the 1978 Budget and Financial Plan for the Town of
Vail which will enable the Town Council to make a supplemental
appropriation of $32,500 from the General Fund for funding of
property damage and liability insurance, the Town Prosecutor
and the Red Zinger Bicycle Classic, and of $11,000 from the
Open Space/Capital Improvements Fund for funding of site pre-
paration and utilities relocation for the ABC School.
Accordingly, I recommend that the Town Council promptly enact
a supplemental appropriation ordinance for these purposes.
