AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION
2.20.040 "MEMBERS-TERh1" OF THE
VAIL MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING
THAT MEMBERS OF THE LOCAL
LICENSING AUTHORITY SHALL SERVE
TWO (2) YEAR OVERLAPPING TERMS;
AND, SETTING FORTH DETAILS RE-
LATING THERETO
WHEREAS, the Town Council is of the opinion that four (4) year
terms are burdensome on voluntary Board Members; and,
WHEREAS, the Town Council is of the opinion that the terms for
the Liquor Licensing Authority should be two (2) year overlapping
terms;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
VAIL, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. Section 2.20.040 "Member-Term" of the Vail Municipal
Code is hereby repealed and reenacted to read as follows:
2.02.040 MEMBERS-TERMS
The terms of office for members of the
local Licensing Authority shall be two
(2) years on an overlapping basis;
provided, however, that the term for the
two (2) member appointed in June, 1979,
shall be for two (2) years to June, 1981,
and the remaining three (3) members of
the Authority shall serve terms that
expire in June, 1980. Thereafter, the
successors shall serve a term of two (2)
years.
Section 2. If any part, section, subsection, sentence, clause
or phrase of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
ordinance; and the Town Council hereby declares it would have passed this
ordinance, and each part, section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase
thereof, regardless of the fact that any one or more parts, sections, sub-
sections sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid.
Section 3. The Town Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that this ordinance is necessary and proper for the health, safety and
welfare of the Town of Vail and the inhabitants thereof.
