NO. 29
WHEREAS, the residents of the Town of Vail and the surrounding
community comprising the entire Gore Valley within the State of Colorado
earnestly support .the preservation of the natural environment within the
White River National Forest and the Arapaho National Forest; and
WHEREAS, Senator Floyd ~K. Haskell and Senator Feter H.
Dominick of the State of Colorado have introduced Senate Bill No. 1864
in the United States Senate For the purpose of establishing approximately
125,000 acres as the Eagles Nest Wilderness Area;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOL_VED by the Town Council for
the Town of Vail that the enactment of Senate Bill No. 1864 introduced in
the United States Senate by Senators Floyd K. Haskell and Peter H.
Dominick be endorsed and that the inhabitants of the Town of Vail and
the surrounding community assert all possible individual eFForts to
encourage the enactment aF the legislation designed to establish the
Eagles Nest Wilderness Area.
The above and Foregoing resolution was introduced at a general
meeting of the Tawn Council for the Town of Vail on the FiFth of June, 1973,
and was approved unanimously by the Town Council at said meeting.
