We thought about going somewhere closer to home, but at the end of the day, we love it here, it feels safer than other places we could be right now, and what a wonderful opportunity to get to spend a very extended period at our second home. 1 My family has been going here for over 40 years.1 Page 4 My family owns time shares and has been coming to Vail since 1965 - my parents stayed in one of the original 7 buildings for their 2nd honeymoon. Other family members live nearby, plus it's in a great central location for lots of fishing and other outdoor activities. Vail has activities for everyone in the family and friends who come along no matter what their tastes and levels of physical activity. 1 My father grew up on a countryside farm in Switzerland, he was ill treated by both parents and only had his little sister. He was a great big brother and provided for her after his parents died. They immigrated to these great United States in the year 1991. They went on and lived fulfilling lives, my father became the head of the CIA. He traveled all over the world, and saved lives, finally he decided to settle down, got married, and had me and my 6 siblings, Hans, Lisa, Dulia, Lars, Gretchen, Kurt, and me, Sally. He eventually got bored of his mundane life and decided to compete in the reality TV show survivor. He won the infamous show, and and our family celebrated by traveling to Vail Colorado. Thus I begin the gruesome tale of how every member of my family died except me. We start with Hans, who was brutally beaten to death by the housekeeper Élsa with her mop. Lisa the sweet innocent child of 8, went wondering in the woods one day and saw of bush of berries. She ate them and died, turns out they were the deadly berry nightlock. One night after the deaths of Hans and Lisa we went to their favorite restaurant to mourn. Dulia was feeling rather hungry so she entered the hot dog eating contest. Mid- hot dog she chocked, and as no one seemed to know how to save her, she died. I still have my suspicions about my family and the people in that restaurant, I think they secretly wanted her to die, she was a bit annoying. Lars, my beloved brother loved to sing, he entered a contest here in Vail, and he did very well. There was a party for all the contestants on a boat afterwards, and unfortunately it exploded and Lars died. I was near the boat, on the land, and when the boat exploded, his hand flew across the water and landed by my feet, it was definitely a traumatizing experience. Gretchen was the party animal in our family, one night she decided to go to a party with some questionable Americans, although you could argue they're all questionable. Anyway, she was a bit of a rebel, if you know what I mean, and that night was the last we ever saw her. Sometimes I still wonder what happened to her, but she wasn't my favorite sister. Kurt and my father went on a hike one day, my father tends to lag behind, so Kurt was a bit ahead of him. My father saw the whole thing happen from a distance, he watched as his eldest son was charged by a mountain lion, but Kurt didn't see the cliff coming and as he was running for his life he fell to his death. My dad died the most uneventful death, I mean he had the audacity to die in his sleep. So now you know the tale of why I travel to vail every year to mourn the deaths of my family. 1 My first time visiting Vail 1 My husband and I have never been and it seemed like it would feel like we left the state even though we were only driving 3 hours away. It felt 100% different then just doing a staycation in Denver.1 My second home Friends 1 My sister lives in the area.1 Nice town, outdoor activities, good restaurants, safe and clean 1 Not a far trip..It's close to Denver where we live..1 ok distance 1 Options and proximity 1 Our friends had accommodations in the area 1 Owh a rownhouse here 1 Own accommodations here and sister lives in Vail.1 Part time ownership in Vail.1 Piney lake and vail offers an enjoyable place to walk around the town 1 posh!1 Pre-booked for a wedding that was cancelled due to COVID 19.1 Previous good experience 1 Previous visitor 1 Previous visits. Architecture, flowers, small streets, river, covered bridge,.1 Reputation 1 Restaurants 1 Page 5 Returning after being away 35 years 1 returning visitor 1 Robert Randolf 1 Second home 2 Second house 1 Second visit 1 selected since it was supposed to be an easy drive from Denver airport. My flight in was very delayed so I had to make the drive at night which was terrible. I left on a Sunday- traffic to Denver was horrendous- 3.5 hours from Vail to downtown Denver!!!! No one should leave on a Sunday. I wish I would have known to leave Vail on a Monday. 1 Since we heard that it's a nice and relaxing place to enjoy the beatiful scenery.1 Sonnenalp 1 Stopped For dinner while heading elsewhere 1 taste 1 Temperature, and view 1 The beauty & the activities 1 The excellent handling og the Covid 19 pandemic 1 The price was good while still providing the quaint yet accommodating, Mountain Village experience we were looking for.1 The Vail Village-Lionshead town is a great place to stay and explore on foot or by bus. Plenty of restaurants and shops. Scenery is amazing. Great for families but also young adults. Something for everyone.1 Village setup, easy of walking, great dinning and brewery 1 Visited before and enjoy the area/ am familiar with the area 1 visited in my childhood and had good memories 1 Wanted to go to mountains and try something different.1 Wanted to hike a specific trail and then got lunch 1 Wanting to go to the weekly Farmers Market. Unfortunately, it was no longer running due to Covid-19 1 Was invited and had always wanted to come 1 Was our wedding destination and return at least 2-3 times every year in all seasons. Memories now with our daughter keep getting better and better!1 We always come to Vail for at least a day trip every time we visit Colorado. One of our favorite mountain destinations.1 We are staying in Breckenridge and Vail made for a close and fun day trip 1 We are staying in Summit County 1 We come to Vail every summer 1 We enjoy their golf courses and the hotel accommodations 1 We enjoy visiting Vail several time a year. We like hiking and cycling in and around Vail. We also like all of the local activities going on in Vail throughout the summer.1 We feel it is similar to Europe and have enjoyed it for many years 1 We go there normally - it's too crowded for covid 1 We had a property available to us 1 We had hockey practice, it's the only sheet of ice during the summer in the valley.1 Page 6 We had never been and heard it was very nice.1 We had to go to the Steadman Clinic 1 We have a condo in Avon. The Vail area itself is tough to beat in terms of things to do (fishing, hiking, dining, etc) and as launch point to travel to both Aspen or Breck for the day.1 We have a second home here.1 We have been before and always enjoy returning 1 We have been coming to Vail for the past few years and absolutely love it here. We call it an adult Disney. Everything is amazing here including the sights, shops, people, and food.1 We have been here before and love it.1 We have been to a few ski destination towns and prefer Vail. THis was our third visit 1 We have no plans to go to Vail since we don't know that Vail even exists, until when I said that I'm going to Colorado for a short road trip and a friend of mine recommended to visit Vail. We did, and we regret that we just had a day trip to Vail. It was a beautiful place, and we would like to go back there not just for a day trip. We like the vibes, that kinda like in Europe and the environment, food, almost everything we like about Vail. We went to some places in Colorado, but we like Vail the most. Definitely will go back there, and for sure to spend days not only a day trip to Vail. And we believe on winter would be such a different experience as well! 1 We have owned a home here for 21 years.1 We have second home here 1 We have stayed there several times for vacations and like the setting and the ambiance of the German designed structures. This year we stayed in Breckenridge instead but we just wanted to come to Vail to see the Betty Ford Gardens and the town for a day. 1 We have visited Vail many times during the summers, and we plan to return as it is one of our family's ultimate summer destinations.1 We haven't been to Vail during the summer for a couple of years and Vail had more open than the other mountain towns.1 We just love all Vail has to offer. The recreation, the town, the dining, the retail.1 We like the dog-friendly nature of the Sebastian Hotel, and we've just relocated back to Colorado from Germany. Vail reminds us a bit of 'home' and the valley is great for bicycling (gravel bike) as well as cuisine.1 We live here in the summers for the past 3 years. The mountains are where my heart sings 1 We live in Denver and try to visit Vail once every summer. We enjoy what the town has to offer: dining, shopping, outdoor recreation, and lodging. We chose Vail over Aspen or Telluride due to it's proximity to Denver.1 We live in Denver, and consider Vail our 'go to' mountain destination all the time. We love Vail. Just wish more attention to enforcement of COVID CDC guidelines. We are health care providers and disappointed in enforcement or lack thereof.1 We love the Gore Creek Campground, the easy connectivity, and the beautiful environment. We also love how Vail makes visitors feel welcome. Oh, and we love the free parking.1 We love Vail 2 We love Vail and celebrate our wedding anniversary (7/19) every year and usually Visit again in the fall (October). We have brought family up with us too!1 We love vail and visit every year 1 We love vail. We got engaged there and it's an easy fun trip from boulder 1 We met our friends who decided go to Vail for a month since they were working remotely and wanted to escape the humidity of Houston. Santa Fe was the other city being considered. They decided on Vail because their friend was going to be performing at Bravo! Vail. 1 We own a timeshare.1 We planned to go to Banff but the borders were closed. We really wanted to spend time in the mountains.1 We try to return to Vail every one to two years, a favorite of ours.1 We visited a few mountain towns.1 We visited where my parents went on their honeymoon years ago! I heard the scenery was gorgeous.1 We wanted a getaway that was close to home to which we could drive and feel safe from the effects of COVID-19.1 We wanted to visit some place that we could do lots of outdoor activities with nice weather!1 We were driving through and I've heard how wonderful vail was. So we stop there every time we travel on I-70 1 We were staying close by.1 We were there years ago and really liked it. So happy to find the Gore Creek campground. Otherwise we couldn't have afforded to stay overnight. We love it. It's a no-brained destination for us.1 We've been going to Vail for the past nine years during the summer and it's become our tradition. We love being in the mountains, especially in the summer with all the gorgeous scenery and wildlife.1 We've been going to Vail for years, it hold a special place in our hearts!1 We've been to Vail a few times and have very fond memories of the place both in Summer and Winter.1 We've heard many good things of vail, and were attracted to its architecture 1 We've never been to Vail and we wanted to see how beautiful everyone said t was and it wasn't to far of a drive.1 Wildflowers/hiking 1 Within driving distance, hiking options.1 Word of mouth from friends.1 Yes 2 Q17: Other: What types of experiences were you looking for in Vail? They seemed wealthy, entitled and spoiled. Their kids equally self righteous. As an owner of property in Vail, I am concerned that this disrespectful crowd gives Vail an unwanted reputation. I would love to be part of a task force to foster socially responsible visitors to Vail. Many of these folks are from Texas. I wanted to tell them, 'hey, don't mess with Vail.' It is critical that visitors feel health and personal safety when they come to Vail. 1 Absolutely LOVED Vail! Had NO idea it was such a fantastic, beautiful, and charming city. I will be back!!!!1 All should be wearing masks inside and outside 1 All was perfect 1 Bike hauled was much needed in VAIL mountain. I can't believe all other VAIL resorts are open and VAIL isn't 1 Easy to choose your day as you feel appropriate, local activity is always fairly simple and welcomed when you call!1 Everyone we spoke with was from Texas or Florida, I would be taking temps and asking questions... Now we are self quarantining to be responsible 1 Extremely impressed in all the COVID-19 precautions!!1 Free and easy parking was great 1 Good. Enjoyed it.1 Great evening: hanging out in the condo then out and about, going to restaurants and a concert.1 Page 9 Great place 1 Had a great time 1 I IS A RESTAURMENT 5 DAYS OF WEEK 1 I love the hike routes and signals along with websites that show them 1 I thought the outdoor dining and beverages were very nice.1 I understand during COVID a lot of restaurants are closed but it was very confusing of which ones were and when they were. Google might say they're open but their front door isn't open. One restaurant had something posted on their front door that they're excited to be back from May but in June they weren't open the entire time we were in town. It would be nice to get a source of truth place to see just what is open and not to better plan our trip. 1 I was appalled at how FEW people wore masks when we have a state mandate to do so.1 I would have done a lot more biking but the mountain wasn't open for lift assist which was too bad 1 Interrupted by preparation for a remodeling project.1 It was a perfect time to just decompress after all of the quarantine time 1 It was beautiful and lots of fun!1 it was fun, relaxing vacation 1 It was nice to dine out and relax, but also hike and sightsee.1 It was PERFECT 1 It would be impossible for the town of vail to control the crowds that were there. Many many tourists not wearing masks... that was frustrating but not on the part of the town 1 It's a mountain town. you don't go to relax. It's adventure time.1 Knowing that Vail is a huge destination for travelers from California, New York and Texas, it would be nice to see the town mandate better mask usage. The individual store owners were strict and I even saw them ask a guest to leave, but if it was a mandate in town, it would be more effective. Also, it may prevent a future shut down if too many cases arise from Vail. 1 Like nothing on earth!1 Love it the whole week.. we didn't want to gone home 1 Love the flowers in town. Good to see open container law, less police harassment and outdoor music.1 Loved visiting the gardens. The shop girl at the School House gift shop did a great job of nicely monitoring the traffic in the shop for social distancing.1 Men are usually golfing during the day while the women are getting massages 1 more of a business trip but we will be back for vacation 1 My kids had the absolute best time!!1 N/A 1 No 6 No comment 1 No.2 No. It was wonderful.1 None 3 Nope 1 Nothing to add except that Vail is a convenient place to do a mix of all levels of activities for families.1 One of the reasons we choose Vail again and again. My spouse and I like different things and you can find them all in the Vail Valley.1 Please establish a winter non-stop from ISP (Long Island) to EGE and a summer non-stop from JFK to EGE. The stopover in Dallas doubles the length of the trip.1 Slower paced helps offset a stressful job.1 So glad we visited Vail instead of Aspen (shhhh, don't tell Aspen)1 Still ridiculous $$$$1 thanks for your hospitality 1 The buildings and grounds are so pretty!!!1 The wearing of masks has to be brought under control -- we were shocked and disappointed at people's behavior, and there was no enforcement of the guidelines. We live in Boulder and expected a similar degree of adherence in Vail. It really ruined our time there. 1 There was freedom to take it at whatever pace we wanted-1 This was a wonderful fantastic vacation.1 too crowded for covid 1 Too many bicycles. Should be a walking environment.1 Too many Bikes in town and nobody wearing Mask!!!1 Tried to keep a good balance with moving around and relaxing!1 Vail is a great place for outdoor activities and eating out 1 Vail is a wonderful place to visit...we love to ski and can't get enough of Vail in the Summer months.1 Page 10 Vail is one of my favorite places to visit. Always beautiful, peaceful and fun to visit!1 We always enjoy the very well kept maintained and clean aspect of Vail. The flowers are amazing and remind us of when we traveled in Germany / Austria / Europe. Especially appreciated the common sense approach to Covid 19.1 We appreciated to opportunity to enjoy fresh air o walks and dining.1 We are Realtors and work long hours so when we get away we like to relax. Depending on how tired we are, we will include site seeing. We love road cycling and have brought our bikes up to ride Vail Pass. Love the Farmers Market and the Palisade peaches. Unfortunately because of COVID the Farmers Market was small with a $2 cover charge and no peaches due to frost this year. Love La Nona restaurant and had our anniversary dinner there. Usually we stay 2 nights but work didn't allow this time. We're looking forward to visiting again in October ❤ 1 We arrived kinda late on Vail since it's only a day trip. And we kinda regret that the gondola ride was closed already, so we haven't had a full experience for all the facilities. So we decided on sightseeing on the village and chillin' out in some cafe and walk around the village 1 We felt very safe and loved the ability to have open containers and listen to music in the village.1 We had a great time and cannot wait to return!1 We love how beautiful Vail is naturally, and we love that the village is well-maintained, the variety of restaurant choices, as well as the plethora of activities in which our family can enjoy!1 We love to spend our days outdoors as a family. Once we leave our place in the late morning, we do not return until later in the evening.1 We loved our time here and shared our experience with friends who are now going to visit this weekend and stay in the Mountain Haus. We can't wait to come back.1 We loved Vail! (Much better than Frisco or Breckenridge.)1 We visited Vail while staying in Breckinridge. Vail does not have the authetic mountain town experience that is present in Summit County. We were bored, there was nothing that we wanted to do, and we returned to Breckinridge after walking the Vail town center. Vail is a resort along the highway rather than a mountain town destination.its also farther from the 14ers that we like to hike. 1 We were touring by Motorcycle. On our trip we visited Aspen, Vail, Steamboat, and Estes Park. The experience was best at Vail because the hotel was great, price was right, the town was 'open' -- the restaurants and bars were fun while being safe RE COVID. The village is fun and self-contained. Once we parked in the parking garage we didn't need transportation until we left. We had fun!! We stayed at Gramshammer Hotel. 1 We will be back next summer!!1 Weather was great and enjoyed being there.1 We've been coming for summers past 4 years and love it. When we were there masks weren't mandatory and wish they were.1 wish it could have been longer.1 Yes. The bike rental prices are really abusive and extremely high. I think the government should help the visitors giving them better deals. How can it be acceptable for a family to spend $1000 per week for rented bikes?1 Q25: Other locations in Colorado (specify): Did you seriously consider a different summer resort for this past trip, and if yes, which one or two resorts did you most seriously consider? Palm Beach 1 We were going to do St Lucia for our honeymoon but instead picked Vail! Its been exactly what we were looking for.1 Whistler 1 Q26: Do you have any comments on your ratings of satisfaction?88 $50 for parking was outrageous. I pay less than that in a major city for the same amount of time.1 A little overpriced 1 Another enjoyable visit to Vail.1 Being a Colorado local, I brought our raft with us to float the Colorado for leisure and fishing. While getting 3 days at Lionshead was nice, we were there for a 7 days and had to struggle finding a safe location to park the trailer. You need more places that recreational trailers can be safely parked over night, particularly since you do not allow street parking in most areas. That was very inconvenient. 1 Business owners were ambivalent about following Covid health guidelines. It was clear that not much would be enforced during peak times. I saved my money and avoided places.1 busy with many not practicing safe distancing/facial cover Lots of rule-breakers that made us very concerned.1 Easy to park in the parking garage 1 Employees are not wearing masks properly.1 Everyone was friendly and inviting.1 Everything was really wonderful! Only downside was lack of good customer service at our condo.1 Expensive shops.1 Extremely satisfied 1 Found Vail very expensive 1 Free parking easy access 1 Get mountain biking up and running. We left vail and went to Beaver Creek because you didn't have it up and running. Also, 2018/19 pass holders should get free bike haul this summer since the absolute best part of our ski season got ripped from us...1 Had vail village room as mountain rooms were unavailable.. which always means for an early wake with all the truck noise and cleaning early AM right outside the window. I get it this year as apparently the mountain side was not open. Hotel was very accommodating! 1 I find the food/restaurant prices in Vail to be very expensive, but there are a few exceptions. Overall I'd say to expect to spend a lot on eating out.1 I had the worst restaurant experience at Sweet Basil. It was the most recommended restaurant by our friend who has spent the last 25+ summers there. I was disappointed in their lack of professionalism and rudeness for a problem that one of their employees created. Didn't receive the best service at their sister restaurant, Mountain Standard, either. Great food and service at Alpenrose and Vintage. 1 I love this place, it truly is my happy place 1 I strongly dislike the early closing of restaurants and bars. Most everything was closed at 9pm and people were confused. We were told by an employee of Blue Moose that they were closing at 730pm. If we had known so many restaurants/bars this before we arrived, we would have gone somewhere else. We had hoped to spend a few hundred dollars that night, but bought a pizza and a had a beer then had to go back to our hotel because things were closing. 1 I was incredibly disappointed by the other tourists not following COVID 19 safety protocols, and the unwillingness of some businesses to enforce such protocols (such as safe distancing or refusing to serve customers without masks).1 It was absolutely terrifying to walk around town. Almost no one wore masks or social distanced. It was frightening.1 It was expensive but we were expecting that 1 It was very crowded so not much room for social distancing and masks were not used as much as they should have been outside.1 It would be great if there could be affordable lodging (besides the campground) for seniors like us, on fixed income or just middle income families. Very nice town, but lodging prices are through the roof!1 Page 12 It's hard to find restaurants. Most restaurants work with reservations only which is extremely annoying when on vacation. Even when having lots of empty tables they don't accept last minute reservations or walk-ins. They don't serve drinks after 10pm, how authoritarian can you go, is this a Nazi town??? Restaurants are also extremely uptight about facemasks. 1 Looooved this trip....it was so special for our family 1 Love Vail and recommend it to all 1 Loved it 1 Many restaurants not operating at all or without outdoor seating available or not enough outdoor seating available 1 Matsuhisa is always amazing.1 More parking and it should all be free based on the price of everything else!1 Most people were wearing masks. Those entering or exiting the gondola mostly we're wearing masks. Vail relies on out of towners. If Covid-19 Cases continue to worsen will there be a 2 wk quarantine for visitors to eagle co. Concerns rising for a town that relies on its tourism for its economy. 1 Mountain Standard was our favorite restaurant + Gorsuch coffee.1 No 3 No additional comments.1 No requirement for mask in Vail Village or Lionshead, impossible to stay 6 feet apart, same on shuttle.1 No.2 None 1 Not a lot of places were open just yet 1 Not many people were in town and many places and activities were open due to COVID, so it's hard to give an accurate picture.1 Not opening the bike haul at VAIL was a huge let down for my whole family 1 Only knock was price for the Gondola was ridiculous considering we were only planning about an hour or less on the mountain.1 Open public transportation to Denver airport.1 Parking expensive. Too many people on streets not wearing masks. Some Restaurants social distancing very well and others doing it poorly.1 Parking is too expensive.2 Parking signs entering the village led is to a parking garage that cost us $40 for just a few hours of visit. Usurous in my opinion.1 Poor compliance By the public with mask usage in Vail Village. No one policing people without masks. Saw police walking or riding through village only twice and no enforcement whatsoever was going on with respect to mask compliance. Pretty unacceptable. 1 Reasonably priced and fair all around, although parking was few and in between at times 1 Restaurants are very pricey and they know they have a captive audience, so customer service is not a priority. I experienced this at Sweet Basil and Pepi. Up the Creek and Red Lion more courteous.1 Should advertise better where public parking is located around the area 1 Signage for visitor center was very poor. Finally parked in the garage near visitor center and was charged $10.00 for 15 minutes of parking. Very disappointed with that experience.1 Some of the employees were very rude when it came to the whole mask thing. If I was outside and social distances I was not wearing my mask, but a few times I was yelled at to put one on even though I was outside and no one was around me and you don't need it in that situation. 1 Some of the guests weren't keeping social distancing and wearing masks, it took away from the experience.1 Stop going after locals for parking infractions. I've watched code enforcement and pd turn a blind eye to tourists doing dumb things that would get a local a ticket or at least a talking to.1 The Covid rules were not enforced and the amount of people from out of town (Texas) that openly flouted them was gross. We had a much better time in Beaver Creek and Avon with these issues 1 The gondola seemed very expensive since we needed just one trip up for hiking and then the trip back down. It would be nice to have a different ticket for those who just wanted one round trip ride on the Gondola versus those making multiple trips in the day such as the bike riders. 1 The Marriott TurnKey property was disappointing. Would choose different accommodations next time.1 The only complaint that I heard about value was the public parking garage. $50 is a lot for parking and most garages that we use in downtown cities are more like $20 and almost always validate at restaurants, etc.1 The only issue is safety. Way too many people not wearing masks. Although I love Vail I won't come back for a while until Covid is not an issue. There need to be more enforcement 1 The price of the gondola was a little outrageous 1 The restaurants overall were great, service was a bit dodgy - likely short staffed and maybe not the staff they hoped would be back —- shops had too many protocols, overdone —- hotel was phenomenal 1 Page 13 The service at the restaurants we visited did not live up to our expectations. Every restaurant we visited in Vail failed to provide average service. We were disappointed in the lack of service and the amount of money we spent.1 There should be better code enforcement. Large groups of cyclists racing through Arrabelle bike dismount area. Large groups in Vail Village without masks.1 There were many visitors from Florida and Texas which concerned me due to the virus. and in the whiskey bar, it got a bit crowded and I was very uncomfortable due to the virus.1 Too many people. Corporate greed and another example of proper steps. This was a risk to see how to handle the winter of corona is around. Instead of keeping locals safe. Once again disappointed in the choices corporate took.1 Trail markings could be better. Myself and others I passed during the hike had issues with Cabin trail. Some split offs were not well marked to indicate which path to continue to follow.1 VAIL HAS MANY STORES 1 Vail is a great town! I love living here!1 Vail is expensive 1 Vail is my summer home. We live here, own in East Vail. this is not just a vacation, this is home 1 Vail is overpriced for just ok things. The restaurants are boring and just ok food. Lower your prices or step up your game.1 vail is very expensive 1 Vail keeps lowering itself to get some business going, very unattractive crowd now, thus service follows... And not enough well maintained, still too much garbage around and on the trails ! NO green buses!1 We chose Vail as an overnight stop on our trip from Montrose to Denver abs back.1 We did not feel that all restaurants were safe with respect to the Covid 19 pandemic precautions. Our hotel reservation was initially overbooked and we were told we did not have a room; but the management at the Lodge worked hard to rectify the situation to our satisfaction. 1 We love it here! There was one restaurant in VAil that was uncomfortably crowded so we left that one. We couldn't be happier with being here! Feels like home 1 We noticed more litter than in past years. There were also a lot of young (children) bikers who were biking too fast in pedestrian heavy areas. Witnessed one running right into an older man.1 We really appreciated the local shops enforcing COVID-19 protocols. The majority, but not all, seemed very responsible. That said, it only takes one to spread the virus and we experienced a few shops that seemed overly casual about adhering to safe practices. That made us very uncomfortable. 1 Well do you want to hear the story of my life?1 Went fishing with my son, parked rental car next to river in what looked like a normal place off road, got parking ticket. There were no signs indicating no parking. BOO...This doesn't happen in Utah when we go there to fish.1 When riding the mountain in my bike, I struggled to find the trails as there aren't clearly signaled regarding how to find them (when wanted to take mid vail trail). I needed air for one of my tires in the top of the gondola and it wasn't available 1 Would like to see tours and Tour guides.1 You guys are ruining the village by allowing all those bikes I almost got hit several times in same with my grandchildren you shouldn't allow them in the village!1 Q29: Did you find any environmental programs or initiatives particularly outstanding (such as recycling programs, Restore the Gore, etc )?35 But you need more recycling stations around the village for peoples water bottles and such, please 1 Clean water initiatives and signage with local artists.1 Compostable items 1 I liked the recycle bins that were around and recyclable bags for the stores.1 I love the flowers and landscaping 1 I loved how there were recycling bins everywhere.1 I try to recycle as much as possible. It's nice Vail has both recycling and trash next to each other throughout town.1 just the availability of recycling and the verbiage in our host's property literature.1 Lots of containers 1 My wife is an avid recycler!1 N/A 3 No 4 No but Vail always feels 'clean'.1 No, restore the gore? That doesn't sound so good considering the reputation of Gore. Overall i believe Vail has excellent environmental programs 1 No.1 Page 14 Not aware of them 1 Recycling 5 Recycling is apparent everywhere, would like to see more in Kansas!1 Recycling is great, but I'm a little slow to return to the combined instead of separating as I do at home.1 recycling! e bikes!1 Recycling, locations of garbage/recycle bins, and hand sanitizer at Farmers Market as well as retail stores.1 restore the gore 1 Sustainability 1 Yes a lot of recycling located around the premises 1 yes at the Marriott hotel 1 Yes but please limit further development/expansion or this will look like New York city and lose it mountain respite flavor 1 Q35: Do you have any additional comments on your Vail experiences this past visit?68 - Dining costs were exorbitant at Practically all levels of dining. - Covid protocols in restaurants with masks were excellent. With respect to cleaning there was a lot you could not see to verify. - No mask enforcement whatsoever with the public in Vail Village. Only about 50% of people were wearing masks and compliant. Will not return if safety protocols are not being Enforced. - 1 1. Restaurant seating in public areas are not social distancing. People without masks constantly walking by my table at SweetBasil in the street. 2. Drying machines in restrooms spread coronavirus and we need paper towels to mitigate that airborne spread. 3. I love the hand sanitizer everywhere. 4. We need a slogan to promote healthful responsibility 'protect your loved ones' or 'Eagle flies safe' I'm no good at these right now. 1 Again doesn't make sense the order of things 1 all I did was play golf and it was a good experience although you could use some new carts, more women's merch in the golf shop. the Grille at the golf shop had excellent food, friendly service and was great on the deck.1 Always wonderful, fire made it a little more emotional!1 As before, we really appreciated most of the businesses working hard to keep us safe from COVID-19. We also appreciated the efforts of our hotel. I'm hoping the virus will resolve soon, but until then it might be of value to find a way to monitor all businesses re; safety practices and reminding those who are lax to tighten up. I fully understand that putting your mask down sometimes happens without thinking and we can overlook those times. But when guests and shop owners are deliberate in not adhering to protocols, that is the experience your visitors will remember. That said, your businesses as a whole deserve praise for all they are doing in these tough times. Good luck. We hope to bring our kids and their spouses to the area later this year or next summer and hope to include Vail in the experience. Stay safe. 1 Been coming here for years now, tough to beat. Just please get more parking for those that live in Avon, East/West Vail, etc so we can easily access Vail Village 1 Considering the COVID circumstances, we felt very safe and we're happy we made the trip up again.1 Corona virus restrictions are just way too strict and completely insane in Vail!!! Too much is too much!!!1 COVID protocol virtually non existent. I felt very unsafe 1 Dissappinted with the lack of bike haul 1 During the 4th of July, I saw too many people getting on bus. No masks. Bus was extremely overcrowded. I will truly be amazed if bus drivers test negative for Covid 19 after the exposure they received due to over crowded busses. I do not blame Non compliance issues on the businesses. None compliance was more of a visitor issue. 1 Encourage guests with masks and social distancing 1 Enforce the mask policy in public spaces. I want to go skiing next season but feel like it will not happen if there continues to be a general disregard on the part of some people for masks. Sure, they are a hassle, but the public health policy position is clear.1 Enjoyed our visit tremendously 1 erika.watt@yahoo.com 1 Great vacation for our family!1 I find that some restaurants are very expensive. Bike shops like Buzz are extremely expensive and abusive and do not care about customers; if you do not like the prices go somewhere else! It seems to me that some restaurants and shops know that there is a lot of demand and therefore have started to lower their standards. 1 I had a wonderful beautiful vacation in Vail.1 I liked very much the restaurants tables in the town, I hope they stay after the pandemic 1 I love this town and what it has to offer - because of non compliance by so many visitors I will avoid Vail for the time being. Sorry!1 I think the restaurants and stores were compliant with covid safety protections. Tourists were not 1 I will return with my mom, I believe she will enjoy Vail.1 I'll definitely be back! Summer and winter!1 Page 15 It was so much fun 1 It was wonderful as usual!1 It's such a special place:)Loved our experience!1 Jonathan.sollender@anthem.com I am disappointed that not a single public officer was in town to enforce people to wear masks. We were in Breck the prior weekend and saw 90%+ compliance with wearing masks on Main Street. Is it that Vail does not want to actively encourage mask wearing of the elites that visit for fear of a negative experience? Perhaps easier to be lax and roll the dice on being an epicenter of Eagle County. Compliance with masks is 50% or less in downtown vail, and appears most people consider masks a wrist fashion accessory. Even on trails most people did not have masks on when passing, in sharp contrast to Breckenridge trails. Don't get us wrong, we will still make Vail our second home, but I am disappointed with lack of clear leadership to be more 'actively present' to enforce mask wearing. Its not politics, it is a gratuity for 'you' to wear a mask so I don't infect you unknowingly, and vice versa. Again, it is not politics. It is each doing good for the public good. I am a surgeon, and wore a mask every day for 24 years. It ain't hard to do except when heavy exercising. Email me if you want more guidance. 1 Keep up the good work.1 Loved both!1 Loved it 1 Loved our visit. I had a little trouble with the altitude.1 Many more people than I thought would be here so that is worrying due to the pandemic, I was really hoping it would be more empty 1 Marked as one of my favorite places. Reminded me of Europe.1 Mask wearing in public places within our hotel was very poor. Many of the guests id not follow the rules. Additionally, the village was very crowded at times, meaning, social distancing was not possible, and many other visitors to Vail were refusing to wear masks. This made things very uncomfortable at times. 1 Mountain biking needs to happen. Free bike haul for season pass holders.1 My highlight was attending Bravo! Vail performances. The backdrop of the venue and the performers were spectacular. It was refreshing to attend a live musical performance amidst this pandemic. That would be the reason that I would return to Vail next year. 1 My wife had been here before and wanted to introduce me to Vail. I loved it!1 No 2 No, it kinda sucks the TOV killed the night life and continually allows peter noble to rake them over the coal, but that's none of my business, guess I just have to run for town council. Furthermore, there's very little opportunity in eagle county as a whole for anyone that doesn't want to be a suck up for a living. 1 No.1 not safe for covid 1 Odd year because of COVID-19 1 Parking tickets for parking next to gore creek near golf course in the morning on a saturday is stupid. Especially since there are no signs indicating no parking! I think i will pick a different location to go on a fishing trip next time.1 Police and fire were very helpful and friendly when interacting.1 Regarding COVID-19, I appreciate the efforts on slowing the spread. However, it feels like many of the restrictions still in place are just 'window dressing' that won't really produce any results. These end up being ignored, or just annoyances. The virus isn't going away. People need to be cautious and responsible on their own. I would appreciate if places like Vail would self-evaluate all restrictions/guidelines to ensure that they are actually accomplishing something with each and every item aside from just making people jump through hoops. I am all for individual businesses setting their own rules. When it comes to local municipalities or counties or states making rules, I would like to see them be very thoughtful on those rules to have a specific goal or purpose on each. I think there is too much 'doing something just to be seen as doing something' right now. 1 Rode Vail Gondola & elderly European man who was directing folks for lift tickets directed us wrong then smiled & under his breath said 'Fuck Off!' As an employee of Vail Gondola he should be fired for working @ Vail let alone working with tourists & customer service! We were appalled seeing he was an employee @ Vail's finest ski resort! 1 Streets were crowded and social distancing not always being followed by people. However, glad to see many people with masks on even outside. Overall felt mostly safe although some areas too crowded without spacing.1 Thanks for having us! Our kids loved it and we will be back again this summer!1 The bike path roads are in bad condition.1 The city needs better protocols and enforcement. We have told several older friends to go to other cities and avoid Vail at all costs until the pandemic is over.1 The free bus was a pleasant surprise!1 The hotel pools need better Sanitizing practices... They are not cleaning the deck chairs thoroughly!!!1 Page 16 The lift ticket line process is a cluster and needs to be fixed. Takes too long. Puts people too close to each other. App Store where you sign and buy all and use your phone would be easy 1 The only problem I have with Vail is the water; for years they did not treat the water with chemicals and it's been a shock for me to have tap water that now tastes like pool water to me - I am on well and septic in Bailey, so it's a little more apparent to me than it would be to city-dwellers who visit. Vail used to have some of the best water in the state right out of the tap; it's very disappointing to not have that any more. 1 The signage implying that masks should be worn while outside overstepped state requirements and deterred from the experience.1 There were a ton of out-of-towners who had little to no respect for Colorado's COVID numbers, which are much lower than theirs, so it would be nice to see Vail (and their resorts) take a stand and make masks mandatory in town to ensure Colorado doesn't get shut down and locals who visit frequently continue to do so. 1 Too many people not following COVID 19 restrictions on a non- holiday weekend. I will not be coming back.1 Very few people wearing masks.1 want to ski there but very concerned about the overbuilding leading to massive crowds, especially during pandemic 1 We had a great time! Lots of stuff for kids to do!1 We had an amazing time in Vail!! We are already planning our trip back for next summer and whole family agrees that this is our new favorite summer destination!!1 We know it is hard to enforce mask wearing in situations where social distancing cannot occur. There were a fair number of visitors who seemed to be oblivious to Covid 19 recommendations or just didn't care.1 We were very disappointed that we could not access the top of the mountain via the Eagle Bahn Gondola. We understand that these are unusual times, and safety protocols have to be followed, but it still would've been nice to be able to go to the top of the mtn as we have done in the past. 1 WEATHER 1 We'll be back in August 1 wish more people would comply with face masks in public here 1 Page 17
