All commercial (large or small) and all multi-family permits will have to follow the above mentioned maximum requirements. Residential and small projects should take a lesser amount of time. However, if residential or smaller projects impact the various above mentioned depafiments with regard to necessary review, these projects may also take three (3) weeks to review and approve. If yes was answered to any of the questions then a "Public Way" permit is required. You can pick up an application at either Community Development, located at 75 South Frontage Road or Public Works, located at 1309 Elkhorn Drive. Notice sign-offs for utility companies. ALL utilities must field verifu (locate) respective utilities prior to signing application. Some utility companies require up to 48 hours notice to schedule a locate. A construction traffic control/staging plan must be prepared on a separate sheet of paper. An approved site plan may also be used. This plan will show locations of all traffic control devices (signs, cones, etc.) and the work zone, (area of construction, staging, etc.). This plan will expire on November 1st and will need to be resubmitted for consideration for approval through the winter. Be aware that your resubmission for winter may be denied depending on the location of construction. Sketch of work being performed i'nust be submitted indicating dimensions (length, wiclth and depth of work). This may be drawn on the traffic control plan or a site plan for the job. Submit completed application to the Public Work's office for review. If required, locates wiil be scheduled for the Town of Vail electricians and irrigation crew. The locates take place in the morning, but may require up to 48 hours to peform. The Public Work's Construction Inspector will review the application and approve or deny the permit. You will be contacted as to the status and any requirements that may be needed. Most permits are released within 48 hours of being received, but please allow up to one (1) week to process. As soon as the permit is approved, the Building Department will be notified, allowing the "Building Permit" to be released. Please do not confuse the "Public Wav Permit" with a "Building Permit". NOTE: The above process is for work in a public way ONLy. public Way Permits are valid only until November 15th. A new Public Way Permit is required each year if work is not complete. Re-application each November 15th does not mean an automatic renewal. The purpose of the Phase I is to detffrnine the potential for pas and/or cgnent activities at the sitg or on adjacent lands, to negatively impact the sr[iect property from an environme,ntal perspestive and to identify and record any existing potential or suspect "recognized environmertal conditions" that may impose a liability to, or res$ict the use of, the subject property. A visual inspection of the zubject site and adjacent properties was conductedby Kinslq in March 1997. On February 28th the building was inspected by rlte Kinsley repreentaiw accompanied by llre buimry sperinte*nt M- Jerry SniwlylS yrs. Eryerierce), ho$'ever, an additional orterior inspection was also on March 19e and additional pictures wene taken. The inspection and discussion with Mr Snively rwealed that the subject property is environmental$ clean with resp€ct to vizual inspection. As part of the Phase I, three interviews have been conducted with persons knowledgeable of the site as required under the guidelines of ASTM1527-94. T\e aerial photograpfis of the zuliect area have been reviewed from 195\ 1971, 1981, & 1991. Also, a regulatory ag€ncy data base seuch was conduoted, and the inspectors walked through the entire property, entering soreral represantative urd noting all iternb of environmental interest. The investigation has rs/ealed that this prop€rty is above gradient to most of the dweloped land to the north and is below gradient to the base of the Vail Ski ArBa. The property was used as grazing land wtil 1962. From 1962 to l97l property was used for open ground and staging equipnent. The construstion of ttrc hilding began in l97l and was completed n 1972. Althougfq most of the 42 condominiums have been rernodeled ovu the years, one unit is the same as originally completed. That one unit contains no asbesys or lead paint, none of either item was used in the original building.
