HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-03-27 Town Council MinutesMINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD MARCH 27, 1967 - THE TOWN OF VAIL The Meeting was called to order by Trustee J: Mitchell Hoyt, Mayor 'oro-Tem, in the absence of Mayor Kindel, at 7:50 p.m. ROLL CALL: Roll Call found the following Members present: Trustee Hoyt Trustee Willett Trustee Burdick Trustee Dobson Trustees Seibert and Langmaid were absent. MINUTES OF THE MEETING: 1. A PPROVAL OF VOUCHERS The Town Coordinator, Blake Lynch, explained that the 10 largest disbursement was for ,$7, 000. 00, which is our share of the bridge to be built this summer over Gore Creek at Vail Road. Eagle County is contributing $8, 000. 00, and the Forest Service is contributing $15, 000. 00. Trustee Burdick indicated that all was in order and made a Motion that the Vouchers be approved for payment. Trustee Dobson seconded the Motion and it was approved uanani- mously by the Board. Z. CONSIDERATION OF SETTING A DATE FOR THE DESIR- ABILITY OF HAVE TELEVISION IN VAIL. The Town Coordinator, Blake Lynch, said that we should have a decision on this by the end of April so that the Company would be able to ,work on it in May. From the floor George Knox said that he didn't think it was constitutional to deny a CATV Franchise. Trustee Dobson commented that the Board must determine • the purpose of the Hearing rather than having a free for all. The Hearing was set for Monday, April 10, 1967: 3. STREET IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM The Town Coordinator, Blake Lynch, gave the following report; A. A Fact Sheet has been distributed and he would be happy to answer any questions. The Engineering Firm of Meuer, Serafini & Meuer has been retained to work with Harmon, O'Donnell & Henninger. C. Boettcher & Company will be handling the bond sales. Trustee Dobson requested that Vail M'ater & Sanitation be requested to give us something in writing regarding the lowering of the mill levy. 0 4. MAYOR AND TRUSTEES Trustee Hoyt. Police Commissioner, gave the following report: A. barking - It was necessary to allow parking on the streets F F " � i 6 Page 2 - Minutes of the Meeting - March 27, 1967 this past week since half of the Vail Associate parking lots could not be used due to mud conditions. Beginning March Uth, 1967; we are going to encQurage parking in the parking lots and not on the streets. B. Children - The large number of teen-agers in the village has created some problem, primarily, on noise, nothing serious. Also we have been receiving a few complaints from condominium owners concerning children sleeping in the common areas and hallways. It is actually a problem of the owners unless they sign a complaint. 5. CITIZEN PARTICIPATION None. 6. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES .,, Trustee Burdick made a Motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting and it was seconded by Trustee Willett. It was approved unanimously by the Board. Trustee Burdick commended Trustee Hoyt for the outstanding job he has done as Acting Town Marshall in handling the myriad problems occurring during the last two weeks. With no further business to come before the Board Trustee Burdick made a Motion to adjourn. It was seconded by Trustee Willett and approved unanimously by the Board at 9:00 D. m. •
