TOWN COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Tuesday, September 26, 2000

What follows will reflect motions and actions taken by the Vail Town Council at their regular
work session on September 26, 2000. All members were present with the exception of Kevin
Foley and Rod Slifer.
Item #1. Review of the Pine Beetle Activity in the Vail Valley.
Following discussion of this item with recommendations from staff, the Forest Service, and Vail
Associates, Council gave a thumbs -up to spend up to $115,000 on pine beetle tree extraction
on the sixteen acres behind the sewer plant in Lionshead, such contract to be submitted by Pine
Martin Logging. The $115,000 allocation will be considered in the fourth quarter supplemental.
Item #6. Council Contingency Contribution to the Vail Valley Chamber of Commerce
Annual Fall Mixer.
Sybill Navas moved with a second from Greg Moffet to approve up to $2,500 for this November
30th mixer. A vote was taken and the motion passed 4-1 with Diana Donovan opposing.
